Just because I have feelings for another does not mean our friendship has to suffer.
Our friendship means a lot to me - the fact that you would throw it away because I didn't have feelings for you is ridiculous.
I have every right to say no - I have my reasons.
It just so happens that I have feelings for someone else, but you knew that already before you asked me.
So pardon my confusion.
