My Outsiders TV Show Review

Hey guys so by the title you can see I finished the TV show. If you wanna watch it for yourself I watched mine on YouTube, I just looked up "The Outsiders TV series" A show came up from the 80's; it was on FOX. S.E. Hinton was involved and it was directed by the same person who did the movie, the casting is also different, obviously because the original cast are not TV actors they are(were) movie actors. It's crappy quality because it is just a recording of the show but it's not bad thought, like I could watch it with out problem. 

 The show was good, it had good episodes, it was funny, it was a little sad at times but it really was good, but of course no series is perfect here is what I thought.

The guy who acts Sodapop should have played Steve and the guy who played Steve should have played Sodapop. Tim Sheppard should have been played by a younger actor because he is only suppose to be 18 and he looked 28, he looked older than Darry. He is also a main character which I wish he wasn't.

I'm 90% sure that DX is only a gas station, and it was combined with the bar and Buck owned both which I'm not sure I liked, unless I missed something and they are the same building, but I think I'm right in this. Other than that I thought the casting was good honestly, a lot of people didn't like the casting but I was happy with it besides those three.

It starts at Dallas' funeral and I really wish they did it where Johnny and Dally were still alive and did the show before the book because I really wanted them to be involved with it, I wanted to see all seven of the them not just the five plus Tim. It's not like they really tied their death in with anything besides a few minor things that could have been played out differently. Another thing is that they added a new character named Scout, that I didn't like because she was the girl version of Johnny, because she looked like Johnny and she had the same home life, that where the similarities stop because she was annoying and Johnny is an angel.

Also the first episode called "Pilot" is really just the last like three chapters from the book so it was pretty pointless besides the fact that instead of Soda running out tired of his brothers fighting, Darry ran out because he was stressed, other than that it was the same. 

Also since Tim looked older it was weird because at a point he had a thing with Cherry who is still in high school so it was a bit weird. Another thing, Two has a little sister in the book and movie and she just doesn't exist in the show which makes me a bit mad but it's whatever I guess. Lastly Pony's hair is brown again, I know that they did it because he originally has the brown almost red hair as described in the book but it should be blonde because it just doesn't magically turn brown again, but I understand that though.

But besides those things, it was a good show and I wish there were more than just 12 episodes. It was funny, sad, traumatic, and romantic to a point. Soda gets shot at one point, Two dresses like a girl and a biker, Darry wears a suit, Pony wears what I think is Dally's jacket (I hope it is), Steve stands up to a fake army guy, The Curtis brothers get stuck with a baby, and you meet Two-Bit's Dad so it was pretty good.

That was my review! I highly suggest watching the show it really is good.
