Preemptive A/N: Outdated memes are the best. Let it be known that I have no idea what the layout of BBC's buildings are! That being said... I hope you enjoy the chapter!

I looked in the mirror, trying to psych myself up for my first day of work. It wasn't working very well. I felt about ready to puke from the idea of finally leaving my apartment on my own. Dan and Phil had been spending a lot of time with me over the past few day, showing me around London and hanging out with me when they weren't busy with making videos. So I hadn't actually been out on my own yet and what was worse was I hadn't thought to ask if Dan and Phil could help me find the location of where I'd be working. So I was completely on my own other than the address Dad had texted me.

I took a deep breath and gathered my things, figuring it'd be better to head out sooner rather than later. I plugged my headphones into my phone and put the address into my GPS. First thing was first, I had to catch a bus.

I left my apartment, making sure to use caution when I opened my front door. I'd managed to make it the past couple of days without injuring anyone and I preferred to keep that record going. I quickly locked my door and made my way out of the complex.

I managed to find the building easily and quickly enough, having followed my phones' directions religiously. I walked in, figuring showing up a little early couldn't hurt anything. The receptionist greeted me and offered me the directions I needed, though I soon found myself lost. After about ten minutes of aimlessly wandering the building I finally managed to pluck up the courage to ask someone for direction.

"U-um... excuse me..." I said, approaching a man getting water from a vending machine. "W-would you happen to know where Mr. Mills is?"

The man turned around and looked down at me, giving me a friendly smile. "Johnathan Mills?" he asked.

"Y-yes," I said, nodding quickly.

"Just walk down this hall and he'll be the first door on the left. You must be his new assistant?"

"Th-thank you, yes... that'd be me," I said.

"Nice to meet you, I'm Nick," the man said, holding out his hand for a handshake.

"N-nice to meet you, Nick... I'm _______," I said, shaking his hand shyly.

Nick nodded with a grin. "Well, I've got to get into the studio. But I'll probably be seeing you around if you're working with John."

"O-okay!" I said as Nick headed off in the opposite direction than he'd pointed me in.

I took a deep breath and headed to the room that Nick had directed me to. The door had a small plaque that read "Johnathan Mills, BBC 1 Radio Station Manager & Program Controller." I probably would've found it soon enough without talking to Nick, but at least I had made it over the first hurtle of talking to people I didn't know.

I knocked on the door, hearing someone invite me in almost immediately. I opened the door and walked in, seeing the man my father had introduced me to over the numerous Skype conferences Dad had arranged. It was slightly comforting for me to be able to recognize the man behind the desk.

"Ah! You must be, _____! It's good to finally meet you in person!" Mr. Mills smiled, standing up from his desk.

I smiled and nodded, stepping forward with my hand outstretched. "Y-yes, you too! Thank you so much for giving me this opportunity to work with you, Mr. Mills."

"Please, call me John. Everyone does," Mr. Mills said, shaking my hand. "And it's a pleasure to have you working here. Your father has talked you up quite a bit!"
