I'll be posting some chapter on this today because I've been doing some writing for this book since I decided I'm not rewriting anymore

Chapter 8.

I sit alone in commons, snacking on a fruit cup, and looking through my phone. I hear a familiar laugh, and I look up seeing Austin walking with all the frat boys and sorority girls. I roll my eyes at the fact that he's hanging out with them, but would complain about how much he hated them not too long ago.

"Don't give him the satisfaction of jealousy" A voice says from beside me, the booth dipping.

"I'm not jealous" I shake my head, turning to see Jesse. He takes a grape from my cup and pops it into his mouth, winking at me. I had told Jesse the truth, that I had partially used him to get on Austin's nerves and to my surprise he only laughed. He told me that it didn't matter because he liked me, and nothing else matters to him "Seriously, I'm not"

"Okay" He chuckles, raising his hands in defense "So, how's your day been?" He asks, leaning his head on my shoulder.

"It's been alright, how's yours been?"

"It's been pretty good" He shrugs, taking another grape from my cup.

"Will you stop stealing my grapes?" I roll my eyes playfully, and he quickly stuffs the grape into his mouth.

"What grape?" He asks, opening his hands to show they're empty.

"Oh my god! Where'd it go?" I laugh.

"I never took one"

"Well, I guess I have to believe you" I sigh dramatically.

"Good, because I never lie" He winks, nudging his nose along my cheek.

"I'm sure you don't" I chuckle, turning my head to look at him. He pecks my lips quickly, and I grin, leaning in to kiss him again, a little longer "I need to go grocery shopping" I sigh as I pull away, and Jesse wraps an arm around my shoulder.

"I need to get to a lecture" Jesse frowns.

"I'm done for today" I tease, and he rolls his eyes.

"I could be if I wanted to"

"Nope, you're going to your lecture"

"I know" He rolls his eyes, checking the time on his watch "And if I don't want to be late, I should leave now"

"I'll walk out with you" I follow him as he stands up from the booth. He casually slides his hand into mine, lacing our fingers together as we walk to his lecture hall, stopping in front of the door.

"I'll see you later" He leans down to peck my lips.

"Okay" I nod, and he lets go of my hand, walking inside of the lecture hall.

"Hey Bitch!" Angie grins sarcastically, shoving me to the ground.

"Fuck off" I grit, standing up and brushing off my clothes. Austin walks up to Angie, and wraps an arm around her shoulder, looking me up and down in disgust, something that settles a pain in my chest.

"I think you're the one that needs to fuck off" He chuckles, walking off inside of the lecture hall. I fight off the tears and walk to my apartment, getting into my car and driving to the grocery store. I walk inside, and pick up a series of fruits and vegetables, along with some juice and milk. I check out and carry everything to my apartment, putting away and walking to the gym inside of my apartment complex.

I plug in my headphones, and turn on some music, getting on the treadmill. I run for a while before getting off and moving around the gym, doing a series of exercises, but am interrupted when my music turns off and my phone starts to ring. I answer it through my headphones, laying back against the floor.

"Hello?" I say out of breath.

"What have you been doing?" Jesse chuckles, and I smile at the sound of his voice.

"I've been in the gym"

"Since?"

"Hm, I guess around 3:30"

"Tommie, it's 11"

"What?" I ask, looking at the clock and seeing it is past 11 "Holy shit"

"Yeah, holy shit" He chuckles.

"Why are you calling me this late?"

"Well, I was just calling to say goodnight, but it seems you'll be up for a while"

"No, the gym closes soon anyways" I shrug.

"Why are you at the gym? What happened?"

"Nothing" I shake my head "I just wanted to workout"

"That's a lie"

"Austin, and Angie were being pains in my ass so I just decided to come down here" I stand up from the floor, walking back up to my apartment.

"They're not important Tommie, don't listen to anything they say"

"Easier said than done Jesse" I frown, unlocking the door to my apartment and walking to my bathroom.

"You can do it, I promise" He says, and I sigh.

"I'll try, but I have to go, I need to shower, I have 8 hours of gym sweat to wash off of me"

"Okay, well goodnight and I'll talk to you tomorrow"

"Goodnight Jesse" I smile, hanging up the phone. I turn on the shower and strip from my clothes getting into the shower, and washing my body and hair. I get out of the shower, and wrap a towel around my body and hair, walking back into my room to change into a pair of shorts and a t-shirt, laying down in my bed.

They're not worth it Tommie I repeat over and over in my head until I eventually fall asleep.
