The first few chapters of this are going to start out boring, and slow but it's just to get some background before the story starts️
This is a short and shitty chapter, but the next will be better.
Chapter 2.
"Good morning" Austin whispers as my eyes flutter open.
"Morning" I yawn, stretching out my arms "What time is it?"
"It is 8:30"
"Breakfast?" I ask, getting out of bed.
"No thanks, I'm not hungry" He shrugs, and I turn around to look at him, my hands on my hips.
"Austin, you are always hungry" I roll my eyes, and as if on cue his stomach growls and I laugh loudly "Told you" I grin "Come on, let's get something from commons" I throw on a pair of slippers and tie my hair in a bun. We walk out of my apartment complex and across the street to campus, our arms linked together.
"So what are we going to do in this fine Saturday?" Austin asks.
"I don't know" I shrug "What do you want to do?"
"I'm not sure either" He chuckles "But if you don't know, and I don't know, then I guess we can stay in your apartment all day, cuddling" He opens the door to commons for me.
"Hmm, sounds tempting" I wink, swiping my card.
"I know, my cuddles are irresistible" He smirks, handing me a plate.
"I think I'm going to get a fruit salad" I bite my lip "But what kind of fruit?"
"Eggs, and pancakes" He answers, though the question was rhetorical.
"No" I shake my head "I need to eat fruit"
"Babe, no you don't. You look great, stop worrying" He sighs, slapping two pancakes onto my plate.
"Austin no, I don't want that" I slide the pancakes onto his plate, stacking fruits onto my plate.
"Tommie" He huffs.
"Austin" I huff back, and he rolls his eyes.
"I thought you were doing better"
"I am, it's better than nothing" I grab a water from the ice bucket, tucking it under my arm.
"Tommie, but you still-"
"Austin, I'm eating, that's all that matters" I shrug, walking to a table, many sitting down on one side of the booth.
"I'm just worried about you" He sits across from me, sighing heavily.
"I know, and I thank you for that. But I'm honestly fine" I smile, taking a bite of fruit.
"Alright" He sighs "I'll take your word for it"
"Good" I chuckle "So, how was your lecture yesterday?"
"Boring as usual, but guess who was looking at me during my lecture" He grins, taking a btie from his bacon.
"Jesus" I laugh, and he rolls his eyes.
"Come on Tommie, I'm being serious"
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry" I laugh "Who?"
"Angie Clark" He grins, and I fake a wide smile.
"Oh my god, good for you" I fake enthusiasm as well, and I know he doesn't buy it, but he doesn't call me out on it "I know you've liked her for a long time"
"Yeah, she's just perfect" He sighs dreamily, and I roll my eyes, leaning back in my seat.
"I can tell you think that" I shrug, him knowing I'm not too fond of her.
"I still don't see why you don't like her"
"I'm literally told you countless time" I roll my eyes, which was true. She had seemed to always find a way to make my life a living hell, though Austin had never noticed, too engrossed in her beauty.
"I've never seen or heard a time where she was mean to you"
"Are you kidding me? She literally started 'Fat bitches need their cheetos' because I ate one of your cheetos at lunch. In the fucking 6th grade"
"Nope, don't remember it"
"Oh really? What about the time when she threw a huge magnet at me because she thought my braces would catch it? Chemistry? The 10th grade"
"Don't remember that one either" He shakes his head.
"You were the one who walked me to the nurse" I say in disbelief, my voice rising an octave.
"I used to block out Chemistry class" He shrugs, and I take a deep breath, closing my eyes.
"Nevermind then" I shake my head "Next topic" I reopen my eyes.
"Did you do your research paper?" Austin asks and I nod.
"I finished it the day we got it. Have you?"
"Of course not" He chuckles "I'll be doing that the day before it's due, as usual"
"Austin, it's supposed to be 15 pages"
"And I'm sure if I use big words and write in circles I'll make it that far"
"Good luck" I sing song, and he chuckles, rolling his eyes.
***
"I know what we can do" Austin gasps, running his fingers through my hair.
"No I am not going to the boxing place with you. My jaw still hurts from where that girl punched me" I chuckle, and he laughs loudly.
"I was just going to say we could make pizza"
"Oh, no thanks" I shake my head, and Austin sighs.
"Tommie" He whines "Please, I thought you loved me"
"That was your first mistake" I tease, and his jaw drops as he scoffs.
"The nerve"
"Sorry" I shrug.
"But seriously, I want to make pizza"
"Fine" I sigh, getting off of Austin, and getting up from my bed.
"Don't be a Debbie Downer" Austin pouts, wrapping his arms around my waist "It's killing my vibe"
"I apologize for killing your vibe, you must be so distraught"
"I am, very" He laughs as I walk to the kitchen.
"I don't have anything to make pizza so we might have to go to the grocery store" I say, looking through my cabinets.
"Well then, get your cute ass in my car, and let's go" He slaps my butt, walking out of my apartment. I stand there staring at the door with my jaw dropped until he peeks his head back in "Please" He pouts, and I shake my head, following after you.
"You sir, will be the death of me" I laugh.
