I was born in that room, my parents barely recognizable through the shadows of the darkened place. I don't think I'll ever be able to leave this place, from what Momma said. I wish I could, but Momma said as long as she lives she'll stay with me, even if Daddy has to go. I don't think daddy will leave us though, he loves us too much. Right? I smiled and gripped my teddybear closer. Daddy had given it to me a while back, for my birthday. I held the teddybear close to my chest, grabbing the tag on it's ear, pulling it open to read it's contents. It read in rough, chaped, ragged letters; "My heart will always leave a place for you and Mommy. Never forget this, and never forget me, even if I must go. I will do all in my power to stay by your side, and so will Mommy. One day you'll-" It cut off, the letters to large to have fit in anymore writing. On the other side of the tag had an indent where his thumb had been gripping onto to write on the other side of the tag, the indent large. I placed my thumb in it's place, and smiled at the size difference. I let the teddybear rest against my chest as I looked up to see Mommy standing a little bit away, her black hair ragged. I walked forward, and rested my hand on her arm, smiling up at her as I held my teddybear close.
"I'll always be here for you Mommy. Even if Daddy can't be." I chimed in, my voice soft as I pressed my body to her leg.
