one: beside you

CHAPTER ONE:

“I’m sorry; this must be the crappiest date you’ve ever had.” I pouted, holding her hand in my hand as we stayed on the roof of my car. 

We were supposed to have dinner at a fancy restaurant in the city, but my car just had to break down. I wanted our first date to be perfect, just like Charlotte. But no, it turned out twice as horrible as I feared.

“It’s the best,” she told me, kissing my cheek. 

I may have blushed a little, just a little, from her gesture. 

I just couldn’t believe she said yes. She actually agreed to date me; it was the best day of my life.

Who would have thought that some drummer boy, who worked at some video game shop, got the most beautiful girl in the whole world?

Not me.

“Thank you for agreeing to this, though. Thank you, really.” I turned my head to have a clear view of her. 

She was looking at the stars, her face lightening up from the night sky. “Of course I would! It’s a dream come true to be here with you right now.” She put her gaze on me, and I could feel myself become conscious, but also feel really lucky.

“You’re beautiful, Charlotte,” I complimented, out of the blue.

She laughed, “You’re weird, Ashton.”

“And there’s nowhere I would want to be but beside you.”
