CHAPTER FIVE:

| ashton’s pov |

“Let’s go to the hospital, Ashton. You’ve had a high fever since last week. You’ve also been non-stop coughing. I’m worried,” my mum told me, feeling my neck, to know how high my temperature was.

I nodded; maybe it was time to go to the doctor. They’d know what to do. They’ll know my sickness, give me some medicine, and I’ll be just fine.

The doctor coughed, showing my mum and I the results of the x-ray. I couldn’t understand what was happening, but I knew that there was something wrong. You could see it from the doctor’s expression.

“You see here,” he pointed out somewhere near my lungs, and I could clearly see something accumulating, or whatever it was- it just looked wrong. It was making me feel uncomfortable, but I just raised my eyebrows at every word he would say. “That’s a tumor.”

My mum shook her head furiously, “No, no, no.”

I took it upon myself to stay collected, though I had the huge urge to tear that black paper, of some sort, apart.

“Please do everything you can. I don’t care how much it’s going to be, just do it!” My mum shouted.

I held her by the shoulders, trying to calm her down.

“Five years, ma’am. We’ll give him five years.”

Author's Note: Is the title funny because five then five years? Okay, sorry. And before you ask, I'm not entirely sure about the process of this medical stuff, but that's how it goes, said my cousin.
