CHAPTER NINE:

Dear Ashton,

Hey, how’ve you been? I’m good here; I met new people who I know you’ll like. There’s someone here that actually reminds me of you, and I’m sure you two would get along!

I’m sorry, it’s been a month or two since I’ve replied to your letter. You know, university’s hectic here. I just wish you were here, too. Not because I want you to suffer from all of this work, but because I want you to experience all of this with me.

I want to come home to see you, but I rarely get a break. I was lucky enough to have this written out because I don’t have time for anything, really.

I’m having my exams soon, so I might not be able to reply to your next letter as fast as I want to. Just know that every time I read your letters, I’m happy. I’m happy because I have someone as wonderful as you.

If anything happens, please remember I’m always here for you. I don’t want you to be sad, ever, but if someone does hurt you, just know that we’re all human– we make mistakes.

But it’s not wrong to get mad once in a while.

It’s not wrong to cry either.

My thoughts are all messed up right now, I’m sorry. You must be confused with what I’m saying. I don’t know; I’m confused, too.

I’m ending the letter here now; I have to get back to reading this really thick book.

Bye, Ashton. I hope to see you soon.
