CHAPTER FOUR:
| ashton’s pov |
We walked in the middle of the empty road, a shortcut to her house. The road was a little shadowy, but as long as we were together, we would be fine.
Looking over at her, I found myself grinning. I was still hung over the thought that I was so lucky. We were together, and that was as unreal as it can get.
She was everything I could ask for, honestly.
“I love this,” she stated. I could feel her sincerity, as my hand intertwined with hers.
I laughed, kissing her cheek. “Love what?”
“You,” she answered, placing her free hand on my back, so we were hugging.
My lips parted to say something, but I decided not to, it would just ruin the moment we were having. And this moment was important to me.
Every second of the day, I couldn’t help but let my mind drift to what would happen to me, if she was finally gone. If she wasn’t beside me anymore.
My heart would ache, but I wouldn’t do anything to stop her from leaving. It was her dream. Who was I to get in the way of what she wanted?
I was just some drummer boy who wants a simple life.
Whereas she had big dreams. And I would never stop her from achieving that.
As long as she was happy, I would be happy, too.
Or at least, I’d try to be.
