Chapter 18

Alan's POV
Fast forward three years and I couldn't believe it. Here I was walking along the beach just as the sun sets, holding Austin's hand. We both had graduated college and had good paying jobs. We moved into our own place about a year ago. We hadn't heard from James since that night, not like either one of us were complaining. That night I think James and I both fully realized it was for the best. That night was when I realized I how I wanted the rest of my life to play out.

My phone rang and I reached in my pocket and saw It was Kellin. Him and Vic had gotten married about two years ago. That was the craziest wedding I had ever been to. I laughed at the thought and then answered the phone.
"Hey Kellin."
"Alan!" He screamed.
"What?" I was worried.
"Where are you!?"
"At the beach. Why? What's wrong?"
"Thank god. Come to the south side please. I-it's Vic."
"Kellin what-"
"Just hurry!" He hung up the phone and I turned back around to tell Austin, but the only problem was he wasn't here. Panic set in and I stood frozen a few moments. I tried calling his phone and it went straight to voicemail. I tried Kellin again and he didn't answer.

I took off as fast as I could running to the other end of the beach. The place was deserted and I had no idea where anyone had went. I was going to cry if I didn't find someone soon. As I got closer i saw the flicker of lights. What the hell? They were like those fairy lights that people hang in their room. I stopped and took a breath. I was utterly confused now. I started walking following the strangely placed lights and soon enough I was led between a couple of rocks and there stood Austin.

He was surrounded by a bunch of tea lights and white rose petals laid all over the sand. I stared at him confused and he motioned me over.
"Austin what is this? Is Kellin here? He said something was wrong with Vic?"
"Princess they're fine. Now-"
"Austin! Kellin was hysteric."
"Vic and I are both fine now shut up and let him talk."  I heard Kellin yell from somewhere. Okay this was strange. Austin laughed and then took my hands in his.

"Alan I'm so glad I met you. You've changed my life forever and who knows where I would be if you weren't here. I can't see a future without you." Oh my god this isn't what I think it is, is it? "You make me happy by just breathing. I need you in my life. Every day, every hour, every second." He got down on one knee and pulled out a small black box. "Will you marry me Princess?" Tears streamed down my face as I nodded my head.
"Yes." He slipped the ring on my finger and the stood up to his full height and kissed me.

Kellin and Vic came out of their hiding place and turned to us.
"I'm really glad you guys found each other." Kellin said dreamily.
"Yea. I really do love him." I said and squeezed Austin's hand.
"I've never seen you so happy Alan. You've been through so much and look at you now."
"I couldn't have done it without you guys either." I said and looked at Kellin and Vic. "Thanks."
"No need to thank us." Vic said. "You two are kinda like a modern day fairy tale. Like he even calls you princess."

I looked at Austin and kissed his lips lightly.
"He will always be my Princess." He said.
"And you'll always be my Prince Charming." He hugged me tightly and I was so glad I had him. This is the man I truly love.
