Chapter 9: I Am Trying To Save You

Heiji approached the fountain as fast as he could with his eyes still on Kazuha. She was still trying to pull something out of it. 'Please tell me he isn't...' he thought and he ran even faster. When he arrived he saw his friend. Kazuha had managed to get half of Shinichi's body out of the water. Shinichi had a calm expression on his face as if he wanted to die.

"THAT IDIOT" Heiji screamed. He helped Kazuha to pull his friend out of that god damn fountain. He grabbed his left arm and Kazuha his right. They finally took him out of the water and lied him down on the floor. Heiji put his head on his chest to see if his friend was still breathing but he couldn't listen to any heartbeat.

"I'll give him the first aid." the girl said suddenly beside him.

"Huh? No. I will do it... CPR...that is what he needs..." Heiji said as he took a place next to his best friend and applied to him CPR. He spent at least thirty minutes on CPR trying to bring him back.

" Come on, man! Wake up! Please! You can't just die yet! Not now! Come back! Ran will be so sad! If you leave us now everything will be over! Come... on...!"

"Heijiiii!" Kazuha cried. "Stop it please! You are very tired! I 'll continue, please stop! The ambulance will come, it's on his way... Please!" the girl was trying to stop him as he was exhausted and he had to rest to gather his strength. "YOU CAN'T CONTINUE ANYMORE...Please... HEIJI!"

"LEAVE ME ALONE KAZUHA! I WILL not stop... Not now.... no! He would do the same... No... you... stop..." he collapsed next to his friend in front Kazuha. "HIEIJIIIIII!!!"

*pats -pats -pats *

"What happened? Where is the emergency?" A nurse asked and she approached Shinichi and the others.

"Please do something... please! Save them!" the girl begged her.

The nurse went closer to Shinichi and checked his pulse. She shook her head sadly and announced time of death. "I'm sorry miss... but the child here, who is wet, left us..." Then she approached Heiji. "There is hope for him! Get him to the hospital!!"

"What? Huh? No! Shinichi..."

Kazuha fell on the ground defeated and feeling useless. She felt tears running like a river. She couldn't believe it. That boy which was lying in front of her, was dead. She had seen many corpses in her life but that was the first time that she felt so shocked and so desperate about death. It was the first time she didn't want to accept death. She saw them taking away Heiji's body. She tried to get up and follow them but because of the shock she couldn't move or to answer any questions of the nurses around her.

Ran...

What will Ran do now? How cruel can her destiny be? What did she do wrong and she is going through all of that shit? So unfortunate... She was so mad at Shinichi... How could he do this to her friend? How could he leave her alone again. And what was that expression on his face? Why a joyful one? Happy because he would leave her friend and hurt her even more...?

"I hate you! Can you hear me? I HATE YOUUUU!" she screamed and hit very violently with both her hands simultaneously the belly of the detective who was lying before her.

Then suddenly the body began to move, coughs and through water from it's mouth. Kazuha looked at him shocked and waited to see what is going to happen. After some time of random movements and lot's of water Shinichi stood up and looked at her lost.

"Gah Gah Gah... Why... look at me... so gkachchchch... and why stand still? Ahhh..."

"Huh? YOU ALIVE... HAHAHAHAHA YOU ARE ALIVE! HAHAHAHAHA!! OIIIIIIII OIIIIIII! HERE!OVER HERE! HE IS STILL ALIVE! That idiot is still alive!" she looked at the detective in front of her thankful.
