Harley lay tangled in the soft sheets of the bed she shared with her clown prince. Her eyes were scanning a magazine as the radio played her favorite old Elvis songs.

Harley hummed as she twirled a strand of her dyed hair in her fingers. Glancing at the clock, she sighed. He still wasn't home and it was almost one in the morning. "He should be here by now.."

Half an hour later, just as Elvis' velvety voice began to lull her to sleep, she heard the bedroom door creak open.

"Heya doll." Joker flashed her a tired smile. Harley warmly returned it. "I missed you." She pushed herself out of bed and lazily walked over to him. Joker chuckled as she buried her face into his chest and wrapped her arms around him. "Sweet girl." He whispered as he kissed her head and lovingly rubbed her back.

The calming music made both of them stand together, swaying back and forth ever so slightly. "I hear you're listening to your eye candy." Joker's comment about Harley's little celebrity crush made her giggle lightly. "You're my eye candy, Puddin'. He's my ear candy."
Joker scrunched his face up. "Ear candy? No thank you." He retorted. Harley threw her head back as she laughed.

Joker finally pulled away and threw his coat on the bed as he entered the bathroom. Harley lied down next to his coat, fiddling with the buttons as she watched the love of her life wash away his face paint and remove his make up. Elvis' love songs creating the perfect atmosphere for her.

Memories of Joker holding her and singing to her caused her cheeks to redden. She loved his raspy voice. When Joker sang, he sang to get a rise out of someone. The lyrics he came up with were sure to haunt someone's dreams forever. But when he sang to Harley, it was nothing but pure perfection. Pure adoration. His voice was soft and loving. Just the way she liked it.

She hadn't even realized she was staring at Joker until his voice cut through Elvis' and interrupted her daydreaming. "You been in bed all day?" He asked as he sauntered out of the bathroom shirtless, his suspenders hanging at his sides. Harley was completely gone at this point. "Harls?" Joker raised an eyebrow. Harley shook her head and smiled. "Hm?"

Joker smirked and dabbed the washcloth over his scars, wiping the smudged lipstick off. "I asked have you been in bed all day." He repeated. Harley's mouth formed an "o" as she sat up and nodded. "Pretty much. It was one of those days, y'know?" Joker shook his head and lied down next to her. "Lazy, lazy, Harley." He said as his eyes began to flutter shut.

Harley giggled and began running her hands through his soft green locks. She eyed the stubborn left over lipstick on his stained lips. "You missed a spot." Harley took the washcloth from Joker's hand. "Is it okay if I get the scars?" She asked innocently. Joker opened his eyes again and gave her a stern glare, but her own baby blues that he absolutely adored, stared at him with unconditional love. He finally sighed and nodded.

Harley hesitated at first, but she gently began to rub the washcloth on his lips and over the scars. Joker watched as her eyes followed every move she made, never losing focus. He heard her faintly humming another Elvis song that she loved. Joker decided to join in.

"Angel." Harley hummed.

"With those angel eyes." Joker sang out loud.

Harley's eyes seemed to glow as her boyfriend serenaded her.

"Come and take this earth boy, up to paradise." Joker continued as he lightly caressed Harley's thigh.

"Anywhere is paradise with you, Puddin'." Joker simply chuckled at her comment.

"Angel. Can I hold you tight?"

"Anytime, anywhere." Harley put down the washcloth and wrapped her arms around his bare torso.

"Never kissed an angel. Can I kiss one tonight?"

"Y'sayin' I ain't a good kisser, Mistah J?"

"If I said I love you, would I be speaking out of term?"

"Actually, yeah. Those three words are not in your vocab, Puddin'." Harley teased. They both know it's true.

"I'm only human, but i'm willing to learn." Joker sang with a chuckle.

Harley's eyes slightly watered at that. How she yearned to hear him say those three little words.

"Angel, make my wish come true."

Joker then wrapped his arms tightly around Harley as he gently kissed her lips. This was rare. It almost seemed like a dream.

"Let me be in heaven, here on earth with you." He finally finished.

"I love it when you sing to me Mistah J." Harley whispered as she ran her thumb across Joker's jawline. Joker grinned and stroked her hair.

"I love you, Harley baby."

Harley paused for a moment and gazed up at him. Joker however, refused to make any eye contact. He suddenly rolled over on his side and grunted. "Goodnight." He mumbled.

Harley was confused. Was it something she said? "Puddin'?.."

No response.

"I love you too, Pud. You already know that though." Harley giggled lightly.

A few more moments of silence and Joker roughly grabbed Harley's arm and draped it over his side. Harley smiled and laced her fingers into his.

"This is definitely paradise.." She whispered as she snuggled close to the love of her life.

(This idea just kinda popped into my head. I've been really into Elvis lately and I always think of these two when I listen to "Angel". I also really like the idea of Joker singing old songs to Harley. Kinda like an old married couple or somethin. All the views and favorites are greatly appreciated as always.💕
