Their wedding was held in the Sanctuary and all it's staff were invited to this special occasion. Skulduggery had named Ghastly his best man and Valkyrie named Tanith her maid of honor. They chose Erskine to be their ring bearier.
In their separate rooms, the couple was getting ready for their big day. Skuldugerry and Valkyrie wanted nothing fancy so the wedding was simple.
"Skul! Stand still! You need this bow on you." Ghastly struggled to hold down his skeleton friend. "I know, I know. But I'm just so nervous. Can I ask you something? I'm worried."
"Worried? About what? You proposed to her already. You're not regretting it, are you?"
"What? Of course not! I love Valkyrie with all my heart. And I was just thinking. Will I be a good husband to her? I failed to protect my family from the hands of Serpine two hundred years ago, I'm afraid I'll make the same horrible mistake." Skulduggery said worriedly.
"What's happened is in the past. You love her and will protect her with your life. Only a good person will question whether they'll be a good husband. You won't make the same mistake again." Ghastly had already finished with tying Skuldugegry's bow. "There! Done! Now, go marry her!"
Valkyrie's parents were invited to this momentus event. Since they had discovered about her being magic and were okay with it, they were okay with their relationship too. Skulduggery had asked for her parent's blessing for asking Valkyrie for her hand in marriage and they agreed.
The guests sat down at their seats. The music started playing and all excited chatters died down. The two bridesmaids, Clarabelle and Alice (Alice is six in this fanfic) threw petals down the isle.
Once they were done, Valkyrie emerged and strode down the isle with her father at her side. Her elegant dress swayed under the light breeze in the room. She reached Skulduggery's side and he whispered, "You look beautiful, Val."
After saying their vows, the pastor asked, "Do you, Skulduggery Pleasant, take Valkyrie Cain to be your wife until death do you part?"
"I do."
"And do you, Valkyrie Cain, take Skulduggery Pleasant to be your husband until death do you part?"
"I do."
"Then, by the power invested in me, I know pronounce you husband and wife."
They kissed and the whole room cheered.
It was a day to remember indeed.
