Rose Weasley, Albus Potter, Scorpius Malfoy, and Gryffindor and Rose's best friend, Maddox Everard had snuck into Hogsmeade with James in their first year wearing masks.
Second year, they hadn't bothered, instead, Max took them through the passage in the one-eyed witch's hump, pass Hogsmeade, and to a muggle village to go trick or treating for the first time.
Rose, Al, and Scor were baffled at the fact that muggles would just hand out free candy and were convinced that the words 'Trick or Treat' were a spell to get muggles to give them what they want. Max (who was pureblood but grew up in a muggle village in Dingle) got a kick out of their wonder and shock.
After that, the four of them took thirty minutes in Hogsmeade and the rest of the evening in the muggle village. During the years that Hogsmeade wasn't scheduled on Halloween, the four would sneak out anyway. As the years went on, Max never told his friends that there was an unwritten age limit and instead stood back while the three other seventeen-year-olds went to every door; Max couldn't bring himself to spoil their glee.
