Rose Weasley wanted to play beater more than any other position in Quidditch. However, due to her short stature, thin body, and the fact that girls never became beater, the captain hadn't allowed her to audition. Instead, she became chaser. In her following year, she had competed against many strong Gryffindor brutes for beater and had won. At the end of the audition, after she was appointed the position, she knocked one of the brutes unconscious with her bat. Not because he claimed that she had cheated, or that she would never win them a game because she was a girl, but because he had called her Strawberry shortcake.
