James was once caught with his friend, Tyler Garner, in Knockturn Alley before the start of term, shrinking heads over a bubbling cauldron. Apparently, they had been chosen as volunteers in a crowd to demonstrate how easy it was to do. They were found and scolded by James's little cousin, Rose Weasley, who was with her friends Albus Potter and Scorpius Malfoy. After begging for her not to tell his parents, it was a moment before he noticed that the three of them were in Knockturn Alley too. An agreement was made between that that one wouldn't tell if the other keeps their mouth shut.
