Percy
I ignored Steve and got out of the pool, willing myself wet.
I took the stairs back up to where I had left Tony. I did 'change' though. By that I mean I ducked into a bathroom and willed myself dry. What? I only own three sets of these clothes.
Did I mention I had a backpack with me? And that it can hold an infinite amount of items?
No? Well, I just did.
"Steve, I can't find anything on his dad. Its like he doesn't exist." Tony said, the exasperation in his voice clear even from here.
"There has to be something. I need to know who his dad is, there has to be some record of him." I chose that moment to walk in.
"Why are you asking about my dad?" I asked like I didn't have an idea. Which was easy. I have no idea.
"Because someone wants to find out who your mother loved." Tony teased.
Steve turned red enough to be confused with a tomato. "Tony!"
I laughed, "Don't worry about that, my dad's name is Peter. He's fun. Likes horses." I remembered when I figured out I could talk to horses. "Oh schist! I was supposed to be there an hour ago!" I ran to the stairs.
My wish had one condition, I had to visit Apollo every so often.
"Where are you going?!" Steve yelled after me.
"I'm late, I'm late! For a very important date!" I yelled back. What? I like Alice in Wonderland. Don't judge.
I rushed down the stairs, into the lobby, down the streets, and into the lobby of the Empire State Building.
I walked over to the desk, out of breath. A couple tourists walked in behind me but I ignored them, monsters wouldn't walk into the home of the gods. At least I hope
"600th floor, please." I intoned to the guy sitting behind the desk. He was reading the same magazine as last time. He must be a really slow reader.
"No such thing, kid. Run along now." He said, not looking up from his magazine.
I groaned; they need to learn my face. I slammed an uncapped Riptide on the counter in front of him so hard it cracked the marble. "I have an appointment. I'm already late, I don't think the big guys upstairs will appreciate you making me later."
He, finally, looked up from his magazine and shakily handed me the key. I grabbed it from his hand and grinned at him. "Thank you."
I walked over to the elevator and pressed the button. I stood there waiting for a minute, using the time to calm my racing heart. I don't want a flashback now.
That would be so embarrassing. Hero of Olympus found unconscious in Empire State Lobby. I don't need that, thank you very much.
The elevator opened without a sound. I stepped in and pressed the close button before inserting the key. I turned it and the button for the 600th floor appeared. I pressed it.
The elevator sped up until it felt like it was breaking the sound barrier. It slammed to a stop; I'll have to talk to Hephaestus about that. I stepped out onto the path when the doors opened, avoiding looking around.
I walked absentmindedly to Apollo's temple here on Olympus. I knocked on the pure gold doors, decorated with suns and musical instruments.
They glided open to reveal a certain blonde haired god. He flashed a smile.
Shielding my eyes from the light I looked past him. My dad was standing behind Apollo, off to the side. I raised my eyebrow at him; is he just going to keep showing up?
Not that I'm complaining. Who doesn't want to see the dad who tried to figure out how to help you?
"Hey Dad. What are you doing here?"
"Oh, hi Percy. Um- Bye!" He disappeared into a mist, leaving behind the scent of the ocean.
"So, how you doing Perce?"
