When practice was over, I walked behind Bethany over to where the boys were getting water from the cooler. She broke away from me to greet Troy, telling him that he was great and all that stupid shit to build up his ego. He soaked up her ass kissing like a dirty sponge thirsty for water. I rolled my eyes at the whole situation. He would think he was the shit for dating an older woman.

"Here, kid." I toss my brother his bag when he came over to me, "great practice." I smiled at him. I wasn't going to shmooze him over as Bethany did to Troy, but my brother was good at the sport. Aside from being too thin.

"Thanks. Things were surprisingly calm today." Brenden says in slight shock. "Miss Lucille must have talked to Coach about how he was talking to us again." He took a long gulp of cold water from his bottle, "Lucille is his wife." he informed me just in case I didn't catch on.

"I gathered as much." I nodded, looking past his tall, lanky frame as Negan walked up. He was a little taller than my brother. His brown eyes looked hungry when they took me in, I would eat him alive if he thought he could use his alpha complex to win me over.

"Who's your friend, Thompson?" Negan smiled down at me, "she's something sexy." he thought he was so smooth with that line. I rolled my eyes, reaching into my jacket pocket to pull out a cigarette from the pack.

"Emmett Thompson. I'm his older sister." I hold out my free hand for him to shake, but he just chuckled instead. I take back my hand, running the flame of my lighter across the end of the cancer stick. I inhaled, watching it smolder. I had been waiting for this the entire practice to have one.

"Emmett? I thought you were a boy this whole fucking time." He wore a big grin on his stupid, scruffy face. The type of grin that men wore when they thought they were barking up the right tree. The type of grin I wanted to punch off that face of his.

"Yeah, you fucking would." I shot back, making my brother shift uncomfortably, "I'm a girl. And I thought you were married. Fucking shocking isn't it?" I take a long drag from the cigarette.

"A little." Negan shrugged like it wasn't a big deal at all. He watched me with his brown eyes, giving me a half smile that scrambled my brain. He didn't comment about being married. I looked away, in fear that I'd say something stupid, "I've never seen you before."

"I came home for Brenden's birthday," I tell him as my brother excused himself to go talk to Juliet Grey, his best friends sister. Shit. He left me alone with this man. I didn't know what to say to make him stay with me. All I knew is that I would be in trouble the longer I stood here in Negan's ego.

"Do you want to get a drink later?" Negan boldly asked me, "oh, where are my manners, I'm Negan. But I'm sure you already knew that." He chuckled suggestively.

"Aren't you married?" I remind him as I point to his gold band that would usually signify that a man was taken. Faithfully taken might I add, "I don't get myself into that kind of trouble."
