"Are you planning on keeping me here all night?" I asked Daryl, huddling closer to him under the camo blanket. Somehow, he had stuffed quite a few things into the saddlebags of his motorcycle. It was almost as if they had an extension charm on them and he could pull out the whole world to show me whatever I wanted at that moment.
"Well, only if you'll let me." He held me close to his body, "we could get something to eat." Daryl offered. I laugh.
"So, you pack blankets but you didn't bring food?" I lean into him playfully.
"I didn't think you'd want to be here for this long." Daryl kissed my forehead. I closed my eyes as the bliss took over my body. I didn't want him to pull away from me. He put an arm around my shoulders to bring me closer.
"Trust me. This is way better than anything waiting for me back at home." I sighed softly as he pulled me in closer, "I don't want to go back there."
"Then don't go back," Daryl tells me. I lean away to look at him like he was crazy, "I mean, we can just go. Go anywhere you want to go." He shrugged, looking down at the fire he had made.
"Runaway? I don't think so. I've done enough of that on my own." I sighed.
"So have I."
"And yet, here we are. Back home because we're tied to someone here." I look at Daryl, he looked at me and smiled.
"How about we don't talk about why we're stuck here." Daryl brought me back into his arms, tucking my bangs behind my ear, "I just want to stay here, with you." My heart fluttered in my chest as I looked at him. I caress his face, my fingers finding the back of his head. Daryl looked at my lips as I pulled him closer, closing the long-anticipated gap between our lips.
His lips were soft. Delicate and unsure of what would happen next. I pulled away, expecting him to take the next step, but he didn't. He didn't know how in his shell-shocked state. I smiled, taking advantage of the fact that he would let me have my way with him. I was way too excited at that moment.
"Daryl," I let the blanket fall away from me, climbing into his lap to straddle him, "have you ever been with a girl before?" My forearms resting on his shoulders as I slowly lower myself against his hips. He inhaled sharply when my thighs touched his. He looked up at me through his bangs with a smirk on his face.
"What do you think this is? High school?" Daryl's hands hesitantly found my waist, moving with me as I sat back in his lap, "of course I have. Just, not with someone who's you know, been with someone who knows what they want..." His face heated up.
I smiled, lifting his chin so he looked at me, "I promise that I won't do anything you don't want me to do." I trail my fingers against the bridge of his nose, smoothing away his hair from his blue eyes.

"Where have you been?" Chris asked me, hands on his hips like a worried mother. I rolled my eyes, "it's been almost a week since you were released." He walked with me up my mother's driveway to my Hummer, "that Negan guy, he's been looking all over for you." he informed me.
"Good." I open the door to my truck, seeing my bag and items that were left there, "cause I don't want to be found." I glanced back at him before rifling through my shit to see if anything was missing.
"If he finds out I let you slip through my fingers, he'll kill me." Chris held himself in fear, "and whoever has been sheltering you." He looked like Negan had ruffed him up and threatened his puppy. He also looked like he was jonesing for another fix.
"Shut up, Chris." I look back at him, "if you'd lay off the blow, you'd be able to defend yourself again." I rolled my eyes, "if you tell him I was here, I'll skin you alive." I knew he would listen to me more than he would listen to Negan.
Just because I hadn't been living the life of a bloodthirsty psychopath, doesn't mean I left that life behind me. I didn't look at Chris when he whimpered, but I did feel guilty about it. Being around Daryl made me forget what I did to that girl in Negans tub. It made me forget how traumatic it was to operate on Negan and bring him back to life
My hands started to tremble, I needed to return to Daryl.
"He has the key," Chris tells me, "it was the first thing he came looking for."
"He has the spare." I reach under the seat, pulling the Skyrim lanyard I stole from my brother loose from the mustache duct tape that held it in place, "goodbye, Chris. Next time you see me, I hope it's at my funeral."
I pull myself into the black leather seat, turning the engine over as Brenden walked out of the house. I close the door, reversing out before he could run up to stop me. I needed to escape this before I lost my mind again. I hear my phone ringing in my bag, as I reached for it, I stomped the breaks when Negans truck came out of no where and T-boned me, sending my Hummer spinning back into my mother's lawn.
"Don't touch me!" I groaned as Negan cut my belt free, peeling me off of the steering wheel, "get off of me." I couldn't see clearly, his hands on my body made me nearly give in to him again.
"Where have you been? You've been gone for a week!" He shook me slightly in hopes I would return to reality, searching my face for answers, "do you not pay attention to signs anymore? You ran the fucking stop sign, Emmett!"
"I found paradise." I smiled a bloody smile, my tongue stinging from when I clamped down on it with my canines, "you know, one where I don't have to ever fucking see you ever again." I chuckled when my blood splattered on his face when I spoke. He didn't flinch.
"Emmett, come back to me. Please, just let me make it up to you." Negan begged as sirens closed in around us. He clenched his jaw. My vision cleared just enough for me to see his sorrow filled brown eyes. He hadn't shaved in a while, which added to the sad lumberjack look he was trying to pull off.
"I'd rather fucking die, than have you make anything up to me." I spit the blood that had been collecting under my tongue in his face, causing him to let me go, "I'm not fucking letting them take me back there." I grabbed my keys, my bag, and anything else valuable that was filtering around and could be shoved into my bag.
"They're not going to take you anywhere." Negan tried to stop me, "I'll protect you." he promised me. I gave a wry laugh, slapping his hands away from my skin. He wasn't going to make me give in that easily.
"Just like you fucked Layla?" I asked him, slinging my bag over my shoulders, Negan didn't say anything to me. I nodded, "right. So, I'll be off."
"Emmett, you can't leave!" My mother cried, "you're hurt, don't go baby girl!" She begged as I cut across the neighbor's yard, jumping the fence and running into the forest. I fumble in my bag for my phone, dialing Daryl's number as the sirens echoed off the trees.
"Hello? Who is this?"
"Shit." I hung up, throwing the phone against a tree as hard as I could. It shattered into pieces as I started to run again. Of course, Merle would have the phone. He would have gotten his dirty mitts on Daryl. I was fucked now. I didn't know what to do but run from the noise till my lungs burned under my ribs.
What the fuck was I going to do now?
