God, what am I still doing here in this classroom? All we do is the same shit over, and over again. It's no fun. Besides I'm eighteen, I shouldn't have to be tortured in a classroom, with annoying students. I sighed, as my sixth period teacher continued to write on the board. I leaned my head against my desk, and shut my eyes. I'll take a little nap for now. Yeah, I was surely mistaken.
"Miss. Martinez, would you please stop sleeping in my classroom." My teacher said, causing me to growl, and sit up straight. "Did you just growl at me, missy?"
"Sorry, Teach. You say something?" I clicked my tongue, and snickered.
"Out. Get out of this classroom right this instant."
"What am I? A dog?"Around me students began laughing at my smart remarks back to the teacher. I couldn't help but grin at the sight. At least I can get them to laugh.
"Nikolina, you have five seconds to leave this classroom, before I call security on you." The teacher said, heading towards the phone.
"Security, so scary." I said, waving my hands to show my sarcasm.
"That's it."The teacher picked up the phone, and dialed a number. I picked up my backpack knowing the routine, and waited til security came. Near me, I could hear people talking.
"That's her fifth time this month being sent out of this class."
"She's a big time trouble-maker. Don't get caught up in the likes of her."A small giggle escaped my mouth, and I backed against the wall hoping to block the others out. One of them looked over at me, and I gave them a death stare. They quickly turned away. Hurry up, security. I'd love to visit the principal already. I looked towards the doorway, and noticed figures coming in. Well, speak of the devil. Their here.
"Ah, finally. It took you guys long enough." I said, walking towards one of them.
He stared me down, and sighed disappointed. "Nikolina, I told you to stop getting in trouble."I smiled, "Sorry, Dad."
"I'll take her now. Thank you. Proceed with your lesson." My Father said, and we walked out of the classroom, followed by the other guard. "What did you do this time?"
"Same as always. Tried to fall asleep, then gave off smart-ass remarks."
"Language Nikki."
"Sorry, Dad."
"Stop calling me that, I'm not your father. I'm your brother." He said, and I laughed. "What's so funny?"
"You might be my brother Nikalus, but your the only fatherly figure I've ever had, so it's only natural," I stopped, and he turned towards me. "Besides, everyone's reactions is always funny to that."
"Gah, whatever. Let's just get you to the principals office." Nik said flustered.Reaching the Principals office door, Nik knocked.
"Yes?" A voice said from the other side. "Come in."Nik opened the door, and allowed me to enter. "Mrs. Werrly, I've brought Nikolina for you."
"Again, Nikolina?"So much for hiding the disappointment. Nik looked at the principal, and nodded before leaving the room. I sat down in one of the black cushioned chairs, and rested my arms on my lap. Mrs. Werrly didn't say a word towards me at first, so I stared at her face. Brown hair, turning silver, and brown eyes to match.
Realizing that staring was a bit awkward, I looked around the office. More posters were hanging on the white walls, while less furniture crowded the office.
"Changing things up a bit?" I asked curiously, and Mrs. Werrly looked at me.
"I'm retiring this year, and since we're half-way through I need to start clearing the area up."
"Then why are you adding more posters?"
"These are the posters that were here when I first arrived thirteen years ago." She said, looking at one of the newer posters. "I'm decided to add them back up for the hell of it."
"Mrs. Werrly, that language isn't allowed at school."
"Who are you to talk?" She snapped, and I lowered my eyes. "I've heard the language you use, young lady."I groaned, and she leaned forward. "Nikolina, this is the fifth time you've been asked to leave your sixth period. I think it's now time to give you detention."
"Or you could change my classes." I offered.
"Change your classes?"
"Yeah. It's a foreign language class, that I don't need. Take me out of it. The teacher is an idiot anyways."
"Nikolina!"
"Oh, sorry. I forgot he's your husband."
Mrs. Werrly put her hand to her head, and rubbed her temples. "Listen Nikolina, for now your getting detention. I will try to get your classes changed, but you need to try to improve. If I keep letting you get away with this stuff, I might lose my job."
"Your retiring." I pointed out.
"That's not the point, dammit." Mrs. Werrly said, and I jumped.Remind me, to stay off her bad side. I nodded, and stood up. "Okay, I got it. Detention. That's perfectly fine."
"Where are you going?"
"The bell is about to ring, I'm leaving."
Mrs. Werrly sighed, "Right. School is almost over. Tomorrow come visit me. You, and Nik. We have something to discuss."
"Nik, and I?"
"Yes. We'll also talk more about your detention tomorrow too. Have a good day." She said, and shooed me out.I walked out the door, and looked around me. No one was out due to the bell not ringing yet, so I bolted to the door. Don't wanna be caught up in this mess.
When the bell finally rang, I was outside waiting next to the tree. Nik came over to me, and smiled.
"How did your talk with Mrs. Werrly go?"
"Pretty good, we'll talk about it more tomorrow morning. She wants you to come also."
"Me?"
"Yes, you."
"Why?"
"I don't know, Nik. She just wants to see us both."
"Uh...okay then? Well, you ready to go home?"
"Yeah. Let's go." I said, and walked to the car.
