Chapter 13: Ashamed (Part 2)

Matt's P.O.V.

I travelled back to the Tardis and began to trash the place a bit because I was upset. Just seeing everything made me feel guilty that I couldn't save them. I couldn't save my parents. Just seeing them in their 12 cycle just made me feel like I was selfish. From the times I ignored them when I was a kid and acted like a stubborn d***head in my teenage years... its hard to see them before my existence.

I entered my Tardis and at the main console, there was a man wearing a navy coat. He looked old and he's just sitting there, waiting for me.

"Who are you?" I asked.

"I'm the man you've been looking for" the man said.

The man turned around and it was James, the same person when he went to the refugee planet. He still looks the same when he first saw him and still resembles Dominic.

"James... what are you doing here?" I asked. "Also, how did you find my Tardis?"

"I have my ways" James replied. "Tell me Matt, what are you doing in Gallefrey?"

"To see where I'm from. To see where my parents are from" I answered. "But why should you care? You don't know me!" I said.

"I know things" James said. "Do you know why the Tardis was preventing you to go here?" 

"Why?" I asked.

"Pick up your phone" James said. "Once you do, it will answer all of your questions".

I picked up my phone and once that happened, it rang. It was Dominic and he's calling me.

"Talk to me" I said to Dom.

"Matt... we're witnessing your birth" Dominic said.

Hearing those words... it struck fear. Today is the Time War, the fall of Arcadia. I dropped my phone and I curled up in fear and panic. James came to comfort me but as he put his arms around me, I pushed him to the door.

"How?! How do you know all of this?" I yelled. "Why are you doing this to me?!"

"Because I'm here to tell you that it's you who saves your parents" James said. "It's your destiny to save them but there will be a cost".

"What cost?" I asked.

"Spoilers" James said as he pushes me back and exits the Tardis but before he leaves, he faced me one more time.

"Tell me Bellamy, knowing all of this, will you change history to prevent this from happening or will you let Time take control?"

James left and vanishes in the dust clouds as the distant laser shootings can be heard.

Arcadia Hospital - Dom's P.O.V.

Chris and I are waiting outside as Matt's mum gives birth to our best friend. Is it weird to know the details on how your alien boyfriend is born? Or witness the birth of it? The way it's done is almost similar to how it's done at earth but with some differences that I can't describe. Soon, baby Matt is born and is given to his mother's arms. We both entered the room and there he is... baby Matthew James Bellamy.

"He's so cute" I said.

But before he was given to the nurses, there was an Earthquake. Soon, alarm bells were ringing and we all needed to evacuate the building. Chris and I helped Mr and Mrs Bellamy escape and soon we managed to exit but once we were out, there was panic on the streets and the robots that attacked Matt and I 3 years ago, they were there but more advanced than ever.

"We need to take you to the Tardis now!" Chris said.

"We can't" Matt's mum said.

"Yes you can!" I said. "Remember, Matt was raised by you at Earth, you were able to escape".

"But Dom... what if Matt changes history? What if he doesn't come rescue them?" Chris asked.

"If Matt does that, then we would be disappearing right now because Muse wouldn't exist and our entire timelines would change" I replied.

We all ran to find some cover but soon, we were surrounded by the robots... the Daleks.

"Exterminate!" they chanted.

"Please... spare us" Matt's dad pleaded. "Or let our son live"

But the robots were not responding. They we're charging their lasers till a crash was heard and it got the Dalek's attention. It was a Tardis but it wasn't Matt's, it's the Doctor's. Once the Daleks moved away, a Tardis appeared next to us. Matt came out to save us.

"Get in now!" Matt said. "All of you!"

Matt saw his baby self and knew what he had to do. He pushed his family inside along with Chris and I. Once we were all inside however, the Tardis was moving, without Matt in it. I ran to the door to save Matt but it was locked.

"Matt no!!!!" I yelled. "You stupid box, go back!!!"

But it was no use. Soon, a hologram of Matt was projected.

"If you are seeing this, I activated the escape feature of the Tardis. I programmed this so that you all will be safe" Hologram Matt said. "This Tardis belonged to my father and I'm now returning it to you. You will be sent to June 9 1978 in this place called the United Kingdom at Earth. From there, you will raise your son well. Dom and Chris, you will be teleported soon back to your normal timeline to the time you've left. From there, you shall live your normal lives without me as I shall and can't return to be with you. It was nice knowing you guys".

The hologram disappeared and I began to cry. I yelled to Matt's father to take us back but he can't.

"That feature you've just saw, I have no idea how he does it! I never even used it as it's only used when you're passing down the Tardis to a new owner!" Matt's dad said.

Hearing that and everything that's going on... it reminded me back then when Matt lost his parents. He couldn't go back and his father passed down the Tardis to him. There was no going back.

Soon, Chris and I were vanishing from the Tardis as we are arriving to Chris' house. We wave goodbye and soon a bright light blinded us for a moment. We then arrived at the garden where Chris's kids were running towards their father and Kelly saw us laying there.

"Are you ok" Kelly asked.

"Wh... where are we?" I asked.

I sat up and the Wolstenholme family helped me get back on my feet.

"So Matt's not coming back?" Kelly asked.

"He's going to die in Gallefrey" I said sadly. "He didn't gave me a final kiss goodbye or a hug or anything"

"I'm so sorry" Kelly said.

"What's going to happen to Muse?" Chris asked. "Matt is the face of the band. How are we going to explain to the press that Matt died?"

"I guess we need to give some lie that Matt committed suicide or something" I suggested.

Back in Gallefrey - Matt's P.O.V.

I watched as the Tardis vanishes and right beside me was the Doctor, the War Doctor. He saw me say goodbye to my friends and patted me at the shoulder for reassurance.

"I know it's hard but it's a Time Lord's job to say goodbye" the Doctor said.

"I still think I should have left with them" I said.

"You know you can't anymore" the Doctor said. "Come on... I need your help to get me something in the depths of the Time Vaults... to retrieved the Moment".

"Time to End the War" I said as we walked away.
