Is he really a bad boy? [English]

~Chapter 6~

"What was that?" Mia asked after class.
"What was what?"
"You laughed! Together!"
"Oh my God. That's a crime! Will the police come and arrest me because I laughed?" I asked angrily.
"Nica, it's not that you laughed but that you laughed with him. It's Maxim! You hate him"
"You can change your mind."
"Do you like him?!" she shouted shocked.
"Would you please stop screaming like that, damn it? I didn't say I liked him. Today was the first day we didn't fight. And I'm sorry if you can't handle it, but I'm giving him a chance".
"You want to befriend him?"
"Do you twist every word I say extra?" This conversation was really nerve-racking. "Mia. Now listen to me very carefully okay? I don't intend to make friends with him immediately. I'm just giving him a chance. Maybe he's not such a puke at all," I explained.
"He is an asshole, Veronica," she called again.
"Don't scream like that! Do you know him? Do you know what he is like? No! You don't know. So stop saying something like that"
"You were the one who called him an asshole," she accused me of.
"Yes, I know. But I give him a chance to prove the opposite," I said and went on.
"How can you give him a second chance," she asked angrily.
"Everyone deserves a second chance, Mia. You were the one who begged for a second chance back then, remember?" I asked and left her with it.
Angry, annoyed and also somehow shocked, I made my way to my home. Why did she freak out like that? What was so bad about me talking to Max normally?

The next morning, as I entered the classroom, I sat down in my seat. Max was also present.
"Morning", it came unexpectedly from him. At first, I thought he meant someone else, but he had really spoken to me.
"Morning", I replied and looked at him. An almost inconspicuous smile lay on his lips.
"Hey!"
"Jake! Hi," I greeted my best friend. I got up and was pulled into a hug by him.
"You forgot it yesterday at my place," Jake said and took out my leather jacket from his backpack.
"So you have it! I've been looking for it all morning. Thank you!"
"Not a thing. Ahh, what I wanted to ask you, has the issue between you and Mia been settled," he asked. I just shook my head.
"Shit man. Well, I have to go now. You tell me everything in the break okay?
"Yes, I will. See you later"
"Byee!" he shouted and left the room.
I sat down again and hung my jacket around my chair. Mia came into the room and looked at me briefly, but turned her gaze away again. We hadn't talked since the fight yesterday. So I went to Jacob to talk to him.
"Don't take so much space away," Max bitched at me as I put my folder on the table and a sheet of paper slipped to his side.
"Sorry, Geez", I replied. Actually, I had hoped that this day would be the same as yesterday, but the gentleman had worse mood swings than a pregnant woman.

After a long time a new chapter. Sorry for being inactive. I hope you like this one and the next ones are going to be longer.
