When I woke up the next morning I had to realize disappointed that I was alone. Space next to me was empty. His clothes, which he threw on the chair last night, were gone. Same as Maxim himself. Was that just a dream?
The disappointment grew inside me. I stood up sighingly and went to the bathroom to brush my teeth. So I had to wait for school until I could finally see him. School! What time was it?  With the toothbrush in my mouth, I went back into my room and looked for my phone. I found it under my pillow. How the hell did it land there?
It was 7:45. I still had enough time left. Especially because the first period got cancelled. Sadly I had no message from Maxim.
I couldn't believe that I dreamed everything. It had felt so real, that I was sure that it actually happened. How sad was that though? How much was I missing him, how much did he mean to me that I was dreaming about him being with me?
After I spat out the toothpaste foam and washed my face, I put on my dressing gown and walked downstairs into the kitchen.

And there he was. With just a red towel around his hips, he was standing in my kitchen, leaning against the island, with his back turned to me. It wasn't a dream! He really appeared here in the middle of the night at 4 a.m. and said that he has missed me. And now he was standing in my kitchen - WITH JUST A TOWEL - and was typing something into his phone.
Relieved and delighted over the fact that he was here - and that I wasn't crazy - I sighed and went over to him excited.
"You are here. You are really here.", I whispered like a mantra and hugged him from behind. I kissed his strong back and leaned my cheek against it. He clasped my arms, that were around him and stroke with his thumb over the back of my hand.
"Of course I am here, baby. Why are you so surprised?", he asked.
"When I woke up, you were gone and I thought...I thought that I had...erm I thought that I've dreamed that you were here.", I admitted and could feel my face turning hot.
He turned around and I looked at my feet since I hadn't the guts to look into his face.
"You thought you dreamed it?", he asked me without even a spark of mockery.
"I shouldn't have said anything", I said and buried my face in my hands.
"What have I done to deserve you?", I heard him say with a smile. Not even a second later I got pulled against his chest into a hug. That's exactly what I was asking myself every day.
"Do you want a coffee?", he asked me after he gave me a kiss on my head.
"Yes please"
"Alright" I sat down on a barstool and took a grape from the fruit bowl.
He poured the coffee into two cups and put a lot of sugar into one of them. This cup he put in front of me on the table. He knew how I wanted my coffee. How cute was that?
"Thank you", I said and couldn't take my eyes off his body. Why the hell was he only wearing a towel? It was driving me crazy!
"Should I text Jake, to pick us up?", I asked Maxim.
"My car is in your driveway", he said while taking a sip from his coffee.
"But I drove to your house yesterday"
"Yeah I picked it up earlier"
"Since when are you even awake?", I asked him.
"Since 6 or something like that"
"But you arrived at 4 a.m.", I realized.
"I know but I couldn't sleep", he answered and scratched the back of his head and that made his towel slip down.
"God, can't you put something on? I can't think straight when you are standing in front of me like that", I complained and drank my coffee without looking up. I heard him laughing.
When I finally dared to look up he was gone. Max came back some moments later. Dressed this time. He was wearing black jeans, a white shirt and a leather jacket.
"Can you think straight again?", he laughed.
"Can you stop walking around naked all the time?", I teased him.
"I wasn't naked. I had a towel on. And besides that, we both know that you liked it", he smirked and was completely right.

"Baby are you ready? We have to go", Maxim yelled through the house. I grabbed my bag and went downstairs where he was already waiting and playing with his keys impatient.
"Finished your make-up?"
"I don't even have any make-up on", I said meanwhile I was putting my Vans on.
"As if", he said and put his hands on my face. He then went over my cheeks with his thumbs and looked at them probably to find the make-up leftovers that were supposed to be on his fingers. I told you that I had no make-up on.
"No wonder that everyone's envy you. You are naturally beautiful meanwhile other girls have to put tons of make-up on their faces to look at least a tiny bit like you", he barely said it when my face already turned red.
"You have to learn how to accept compliments, baby", he said smiling and kissed my cheek. A little but wonderful gesture. "We have to go if we want to be on time for class"
I nodded and followed him outside. We got into the car and he hit the road.
