When I got back to the girls, they looked at me like they saw a celebrity or something.
"What do we have no-"
"What were you talking about?"
"Oh my God, he touched you!"
"What did he say to you?" they suddenly asked from all sides.
"So now everyone holds his breath and doesn't scream all in confusion," I conducted.
"First of all, it is none of your business. Secondly, stop treating him like a god and thirdly, he just wanted to know when and where we are doing our paper," I explained to them. Their eyes widened in surprise.
"You are doing a paper together," Ana asked.
"Yes, not voluntarily."
"And when will you do that?"
"Today after school. At my house."
"Max will come to your house? Oh my God! Do you know what kind of luck you have?"
"Luck", I asked amusedly, " I would extremely gladly renounce this luck. I am not particularly enthusiastic about him coming to my home."
"I think every girl in this school would do anything to be in your place."
"That's a little exaggerated. My life isn't exactly exciting to want to be me."
"Nica. Please. You are the best in your year. The most popular and beautiful here at school and in the surrounding area. Jacob Norris is your friend. Everybody loves you and now you are friends with Max. You have a perfect life".
"This is complete nonsense! I don't have a perfect life and I'm not friends with Max. You should all stop clinging to an ideal image. Nobody is perfect. And if you continue to hold on to it, you will never get further in life and build up your self-confidence. Just let it go," I advised them. I took my bag and turned around, "Oh and one more thing: stop worshipping him like that. He is not worth it," I added and went back into the school building. I didn't understand these girls, why were they so fond of him? And why did they pretend I was perfect? I was anything but perfect.

After the last lessons, I said goodbye to Jake and made my way home.
"Wait up, fucking hell," screamed someone behind me. I turned around in amazement and saw an annoyed Max running after me.
"What the hell do you think you are doing?"
"The paper. After school. At your place". That's right. Damn, I had totally forgotten that.
"And that's why you're secretly following me?"
"I called your name at least 5 times to make you wait. But you apparently thought about the next bag your father was supposed to buy you, that you didn't hear me." I moaned annoyed and waited for him to walk beside me. Silently we walked the rest of the way next to each other. He followed me along the driveway and then into the house.
"I'd say we'd go to my room because that's where the computer is," I suggested.
"For all I care," he said indifferently and ran after me to my room. "No pink?"
"What?" I asked confusedly.
"There is no pink in your room. I would have expected a pink empire with a four-poster bed and so on. Instead, it's normal, no color." (Her room is on the picture above ↑)
"Nothing is as it seems," I simply said and turned on the computer.
"I thought you were this typical girly girl who likes pink and flowers and all that shit. But your walls are black," he said.
"I've never been a typical girly girl. I never liked pink. And flowers are beautiful in themselves, but not on clothes and certainly not on the walls. Black is sleek. Simple".
"Impressive", he said of himself. I didn't know how to take it.

Hope you like it xx
