I went to the staircase and just sat there. I was eating just eating gum while people passed by me.
"Myrtle, whoa...... uh.." Harold said.I smirked, "Oh, Hi Harold, where have you been?"
He sat beside me, "What are you wearing?"
"I decided to try something you'll least expect."
He took my scarf then started to run down, "Bet you didn't expect that!"
I stood, "Hey, come back here!"
Then I ran after him.Though I am actually faster than Harold, it was hard to catch up, we were running in the middle of the festival and there were a lot of people. I had to dodge every single one since he's purposely trying to make me lose him.
We made it at the Gates but he didn't stop. He went through it and started to go on the lonely streets of Devalor. Our kingdom's streets is kind of like small and mixed up. Wooden houses were everywhere, like apartments and the road was either going up or down. (Kind of like in Rio).I stopped in a dead end, "Dang it."
I saw a guy passing by slowly with a motorbike.'Idea' I thought.
I kicked his stomach and took his place in his motorbike then drove like crazy, "Whoo!! Now this is how you ride, old man!"
I went zipping past a few people wandering, some close calls, and mostly tight turns. But I have ridden a witch's broom before, and trust me, if you are afraid of fast motorbike rides, it's not a good flight.
I managed to see a hint of red scarf on the hill. The motorbike can't climb up that, and if I don't think fast, I'm going to crash. I'm like super fast now and if I use the break I'll be thrown too hard. Gotta think quick.
I decided there's nothing to do, I slowly pulled the break, and the bike went screeching, I was thrown ahead but I rolled and rolled until I stopped when I hit a rock.
"Ow." I said.
"Oh my Thor. Myrtle! You alright?" Harold yelled.
Oh, compassionate is he? I smirked then pretended to be hurt.
"Ouch. ouch ouch.." I hissed and rolled to one side. "Hard to move.."
Harold quickly came running down the hill hurriedly. He knelt beside me and started to check my bruises, I found the chance then took my scarf that was wrapped around his neck and quickly stood.
"Haha! Fool!" I yelled waving the scarf across his face.
He sighed and smiled at me then stood.
"Alright you win." He said.
I wrapped the scarf around my neck, "Isn't it obvious? Come on, let's head back."
He smiled again then we both walked back to the Castle. We took longer than expected, well, we might've kinda got lost due to the turns and curves. Which is unlikely to me, I never get lost but with Harold, I did. Weird.
It was already Twilight and the festival was getting lively at the courtyard.
"I should go change, it's gonna get pretty hot in there." I said to Harold.
"Okay, I'll wait for you at the ice cream booth."
"Whatever."
I walked to my room and chose a random outfit. Black jeans, white V-neck shirt, black one-buttoned slim blazer and a Tan sand converse chuck Taylor.
I went downstairs and met up with
"Myrtle, there you are."
"Gray." I stated.
He was wearing a white shirt, brown jacket and black Jagger jeans with his black converse.
He frowned, "I was looking all over for you. Where have you been?"
"I had some business to attend. Why do you care?" I asked rudely.
"I was..." He hesitated. "I had something to give you. But you were nowhere."
I cracked a smile, "Wanna go to the party?"
He looked at me, "Sure."We passed the ice cream booth on the way and Harold stood in front of us.
"Gray." Harold said.
"Harold." Gray stated.
I coughed, "Can we go? I'm starving."
They both nodded and we went to the courtyard.
The place was so...
"Lousy. This is a party?" I asked.
Everyone was just sitting and chatting, the only music that was playing was My jolly sailor bold.
"I think Math Class is more fun than this." Harold said.
I went to the table, there were a lot of food and they were unlimited.
"This will be a total waste if it's this lousy, I'd rather go to the dungeon." I said grabbing a golden chalice with plain water inside it.
"Magic Goblets? Seriously, this is a never ending all-you-can-drink glass. And the party's this lame?" I added. "No way."
I went to the orchestra playing."Hey guys, you all know me right?" I asked.
They stood and bowed respectfully, "Lady Myrtle. Princess of Devalor."
I smiled, "Okay, okay. So, uhh.. does anyone know how to play upbeat music?"
They all exchanged looks then nodded.
"Okay, good. Kick it! This is a party for crying out loud!"
They smiled widely then started to play some super upbeat music. The whole crowd started to get up and dance. I went back to the table and saw Tyler, Harold and Gray talking about something so serious, but Harold hardly paid attention.
"Psycho." I muttered to Tyler.
"Myrtle." He replied.
"Looks like you got the party up." Gray said handing me a chalice. "Nice."
I laughed, "I'm Myrtle Swan. I can create prison riots and can even defeat a witch. This is nothing!"
They all smiled at me.
"What do you wanna do now?" Harold asked.
"Dance! Come on!" I yelled over the music and pulled Harold into the crowd and we started dancing.~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
I sat on a chair and ate dinner, well, a steak and a never-ending glass of Taste of Diamonds around a dancing party crowd.
After I finished, the orchestra changed into a slow song. I looked around and saw the crowd slow dancing with a pair. A hand suddenly reached out towards me.
"Wanna dance?" Gray asked.
I rolled my eyes, "Why would I?"
"For old times' sake."
"When did we ever dance?"
"In our old fights. But this time, we'll do it properly."
I didn't have a choice so I sighed and took his hand. He pulled me into the crowd, he placed his hand on my waist as I placed my one hand on his shoulder then our free hands clasped one another. I then danced and followed his lead.
"You're pretty good at this. I was expecting you to like step on my foot and look embarrassing or something." Gray said with a light smile.
"There's a lot of things you don't know about me."
"Looks like I have a lot to be expecting then."
I looked around and noticed Tyler and Harold nowhere to be seen.
"Uh, where are they?" I asked.
"The boys? They went outside. They said they wanted to go enjoy the loneliness of the festival right now, considering everyone is here."
I raised a brow, "That's... weird."
He fell to silence and just stared at me.
"I'm a person, not a diamond, Treque. Stop staring."
He smirked, "You're as beautiful as one, sweet Myrtle."
I rolled my eyes, "When will you ever get over me?"
"The thing is dear Myrtle. I can't. Usually, other women would just be a fling. But you.. are different."
I scoffed, "When you get to know the real me, I'd be a just a fling then, right?"
He was shocked and was about to say something but I didn't let him.
"If you find every single detail about me, you'll look for someone else with another story, right?"
He bit his lip and reached for my face but a hand stopped his. I looked up and saw Tyler, he looked annoyed for some reason.
"I think that's enough for now, we wouldn't want to make a scene here." Tyler said.
Gray pulled his hand back, still keeping his eyes on Tyler.
"Right, of course." He replied.
Gray then walked out to the courtyard.
"What just happened?" I asked.
He looked at me, "He's got issues."
I nodded even though I don't get any of it. Unconsciously I yawned."Tired? Let's go to your room." Tyler said.
I nodded sheepishly then we headed to my bedroom.
I quickly took off my shoes went to my closet, and got naked. I took my pajama pants and a gray sweater. I ran back to the bedroom, with Tyler just closing the door behind him, then jumped on my bed burying my face to my pillow.
Tyler sat beside me, "Mind if I join you? Your couch is not comfortable actually."
I looked at him, "Whatever."
He laid down beside me, with his hand under his head.
After a while, I heard his gentle snores as I blacked out myself.
