Genesis placed the groceries down on the island then sighed.

she had her hands placed on the edge of the island, her arms extended. she looked to the floor, repeating the words that were said by dylan earlier today in her head.

"I was wondering where you ran off to."

genesis turned her head to face her husband.

"You're home." She stood up straight. "Why?"

"Wanted to see how you were doing." He shrugged. "How are you?"

"I'm fine babe." Genesis chuckled. "You need to get back to work. You can't keep taking time off. You have to save up the days when the baby comes"

"You're right." Nate nodded. "I should get going."

He walked over to genesis and kissed her forehead. Nate knelt down and rubbed his wife's stomach gently, "See you when I get back."

Guilt ran through genesis's body.

he said one last goodbye before leaving out the door.

she started to put the groceries away.

once she was almost done, she felt a sharp pain in her lower abdomen.

she placed her hand where she felt the pain and groaned.

it left after a second or two, leaving it once it was gone. however, concern lingered.

maybe a few minutes after,
it came back but much worse.

she could even stand.

she slid down with her back on the wall, holding her stomach.

she figured it would go away but it just kept getting worse to the point where she couldn't handle it anymore - she couldn't stand to move.

tears began to form and slowly steaming down.

she reached into her back pocket for her phone.

once she had it, she went to her contacts.

she planned on ringing for nate, but instead dialed dylan's.

"gen?"

"N- nate." she breathed heavily. "Something's wrong."

"genesis, it's dylan." dylan voice with filled with concern. "what's wrong?"

"crap." she huffed. she didn't have time to explain to him and then call for nate. "I-i'm in so much p-pain right now. I think something is wrong with the ba- baby."

"Oh god." You could hear dylan shuffling. "I'm on my way, don't move too much."

"do i call for a - an ambulance?" she asked.

"no. they'll take too long and we can't risk it. I'll be there quick - sit tight gen."

"okay." genesis breathed. "okay."

"gen?" dylan said. "you'll be okay. everything will be okay."

genesis nodded then hung up the phone.

she groaned in pain while more tears stream down.

"i can't lose this - this baby." she said, looking up. "don't you dare take this baby aw- away from me!"

she was speaking to god.

she usually doesn't speak to him much but she felt the need to now.

her eyes began to grow heavier and heavier and by the time she felt her pants feel wet, she was unconscious.
