"Hey." Genesis poked dylan's shoulder. "Dylan."

dylan opens his eyes and turned his body around. Genesis gave him a small smile and said a good morning.

"Good morning." Dylan sat up. "How're you doing?"

Genesis ignored his question since it's obvious she wasn't doing well.

"I made pancakes." Genesis walked to the kitchen. "Stay for breakfast?"

"Um," Dylan brought his legs down. "I'd love to but aren't you worried he'll come by?"

"You're my cousin." Genesis put a plate with a stack of pancakes on it onto the table. "Remember?"

"Sure, but-"

"I can't eat all these myself." Genesis sat down on the seat. "I mean, I feel like i can but i'm not."

"Fine. yeah, i'm feeling some pancakes." Dylan nodded, standing up and walking to the table. He sat across from Gen, grabbing a plate and putting two pancakes from the stack onto it.

He poured some syrup and as he was, he watched genesis as she ate the pancake from her fork with a dull face.

Dylan put the syrup bottle down and sighed. "Is there anything I can do?"

Genesis looked to him. she pointed to his plate with her fork, "You can eat your pancake. They're really good."

Dylan did as so and hummed as his taste buds were satisfied. "Are these home made?"

"God, no." Genesis scoffed. "I just know the right amount of butter."

"They're delicious." Dylan nodded, taking another bite. It was as if he went to iHop for the first time.

"It's not that serious now." Genesis gave a small smile. It looked forced but Dylan wasn't bothered by it. He politely just smiled back to her.

He finished his breakfast and said thank you. "Don't worry about your dish. I'll take care of it." Genesis said.

Dylan shook his head, getting up and walking to the sink to wash his sticky dish.

He placed it away then sighed. "Thanks again. I should get going now."

Dylan looked at genesis who was just staring down at her phone. "Everything alright?"

"Wha-? Oh, yeah." Genesis looked up to dylan then back to her phone. "Nate texted me saying he was outside."

So much for leaving early enough.

"Could you stay here just a little longer?" Genesis looked up to dylan with sad eyes. "He won't be here long. You can just stay in the room if you want."

Dylan couldn't say no to her. "Sure."

There was a knock at the door and Dylan took that as his cue to leave. He went to her room and shut the door, leaving a crack open.

Genesis opened the door and there stood Nate with his hands in his sweater pockets. They stared at each other for a minute before genesis opened the door wider and moved to the side. "You can come in."

Nate stepped in hesitantly, turning his body around while Gen shut the door. She crossed her arms then looked to the floor.

"I was really upset last night." Nate said.

Genesis nodded.

"You hurt me. I'm hurt." Nate started. "We're supposed to be devoted to each other. I'm so in love with you Genesis. And that's what sucks the most. The feeling I have right now is unexplainable. You said we can fix this but there's no way we can. If we stay together, our relationship - our marriage - will never be the same. I stayed up all night trying to figure out a way I can continue to be happy with you. Our relation was supposed to be on trust, and loyalty, and love. We gave each other unconditional love these past 8 years - including before we got engaged and married. I'll continue to cherish what we had for the rest of my life. You were my first real soul mate and true love. I'll never forget. But, I have to let you go. I wish i can stay with you and help with your baby, but i don't have the strength to and I'm sorry for that. I love you."

Genesis couldn't cry. She just nodded.

Nate hugged her then walked out the door, closing it behind him.

Once dylan heard the door shut, hs walked out and saw genesis stare at the closed door her husband just walked out of. Well, ex husband?

"Genesis?" Dylan slowly approached her.

"I have to get out of here." Genesis said in a rush, walking past dylan and heading into her room.

She grabbed a suit case from her closet and set it down on the bed.

"What're you doing?" Dylan asked.

"Packing." Genesis said as she grabbed clothes from her drawers and closet and starting to fold them, placing them in the suitcase.

"Where are you going?" Dylan watched as she walked back and forth from her bathroom to the suitcase, placing things in.

"Texas." genesis said.

"Texas?!" Dylan raised his brow. "Why? For how long?"

"I have family there. And, i don't know. A few weeks maybe?"

"Genesis, you're not moving to texas are you?" Dylan asked. "Because then i'll have to move to texas and I like portland."

"Dylan, I'm not moving to texas. Just visiting." Genesis placed her shoes on and a sweater. "You can come if you'd like."

Dylan shook his head. "How're you going to get there?"

"Plane."

"Is that safe for the twins? Have you asked? Have you even thought all of this through?!"

Genesis threw what she had in her hands to the floor and started to throw the clothes out of the suit case. she was frustrated.

As she was doing so, she started to cry. Dylan watched her and sighed.

He walked up behind her and wrapped his arms around hers, bringing her arms to her chest and hugging them so she wouldn't be able to throw things anymore.

She was trying to fight her way out of his grip, but dylan didn't let her. Once she got tired, she stopped wiggling and just cried.

she turned around so her body was facing dylan's. she placed her head onto his chest and cried some more. Dylan hugged her, rubbing her back and whispering, "Its okay. It'll be okay."
