She didn't mean to but she stared at him as he walked in the distance disappearing when he turned the corner. Once she snapped out of it she went on her way home passing the bridge over the stream. It was around 4 when she got home, opening the door she was greeted by her brother and a small child. No older than 6 months, the baby had blue eyes and brown hair. "Thanks for taking care of her Hinata, school's been keeping me busy," Sawako pulled out a ten and handed it to her brother, but he refused to take it. "If you're going to keep her you'll need the money sis, especially since you're still 16," she didn't want to be reminded. Sure her brother was nice to her but sometimes he stepped into her territory, she didn't like being this old and having a child. It wasn't her decision, yet she took responsibility for it. "You sure Ani?" he nodded and headed off to his room.
Her mother was working late so tonight was her turn to make dinner. She got a cup of rice and placed it into a pot of water, letting it cook for a minute, then proceeded to cover it for ten minutes. Meanwhile she cooked two eggs and chopped a few vegetables for the rice. She set the plates on the table and boiled some carrots, putting them in a small bowl to mash them. She served her brother a large spoonful of fried rice and placed an egg over it. She served herself and brought Sapphire into the kitchen for dinner. "open up sweetheart" she picked up the small spoonful of mashed carrots and held it to her baby's face, she seemed disgusted by it. "Sapphire you need to eat," she still wouldn't eat, Sapphire had opened her mouth and Sawako took advantage of the moment. Finally, she got her to pay attention to the food. Suddenly the phone in the other room went off. She set the plate down and got up, heading to the living room, she picked up the phone but there was only silence. She hung up but it rang again, picking it up a voice was heard "you alone?" she took note of who's voice it was "no" the answer was simple, she hung up afterwards.
She went back into the kitchen and finished feeding Sapphire while her brother ate. He placed his hands together and bowed "Thanks for the food, I'm heading off to bed," she nodded and ate her own food, she didn't finish it all due to her not feeling comfortable with the amount. Instead she placed the plate in the fridge and picked up her baby. "Come on love, it's time for you to sleep," she went to her room and placed Sapphire in her crib, she herself headed to the shower.
The warm water seemed to make her sleepy, yet it washed away the pain from today's events. Small droplets of cold water dripped onto her from the ceiling, her black hair covering her chest and back. She turned the water off and dried herself, getting dressed and going to bed. Not being able to sleep was one of her flaws, she'd either stay up all night or only get two to three hours worth of sleep and even when she did get a full 9 hours of sleep, she'd still wake up tired. Tonight was of course, one of those days. She placed her glasses on the side table and put her hands under her cold pillow. Bliss was the word to describe the feeling of cold and warm coming together, even if it created a storm. Beauty, a word to describe something pleasing to the eye though, what someone find beautiful might be a nightmare to someone else. These were the thoughts that would flow through her mind at the late hours of the night. After about an hour she fell asleep, 3:00am. Nightmares seemed to be a normal thing for her these days, it was always of the same man, he just wouldn't leave her alone.
The next morning when she woke up she fed Sapphire and got dressed for school. Her uniform was a plain white shirt with a navy blue skirt, she however didn't like this so she'd wear stockings to hide her legs as best she could. She packed a muffin into her bag and filled her cup with coffee, placing a lid on it so it wouldn't spill. Waking her brother up he moved Sapphires crib to his room so he could keep an eye on her, with this she headed off to school.
Kotoro had woken up at around the same time. He ran to the kitchen, toothbrush in his mouth, messy hair, and half naked. He had to get there before his foster "siblings" woke up or else he wouldn't eat until lunch. He quickly made his breakfast and lunch and heard footsteps coming down the stairs. Getting his bento box he ran back to his room with a plate of pancakes and bacon. His room may have not been the best but it had enough room for a king sized bed, he had his own bathroom and a door to the backyard, sadly it was the basement. Since his foster parents ran out of rooms to fit the kids in he got stuck with the basement, it would be colder during the night and sometimes even cold during the summer. The only good things were that he could go up the stairs, go out the back door, and leave the house without being seen. He put on his black uniform and ate his breakfast, leaving the dirty plate on the nightstand. Sticking some of his hair to the side he was left with a small curl coming off the side of his hair. It was always like this, hard to tame and somewhat wavy, though he used large amounts of hair gel to keep it in place as best as possible. Slipping on the silicone cover he checked to see if it was fully covered and he left out the door. On his way to school he thought about the girl he met yesterday.
