"So, will you and sapphire be heading home or do you want to face the wrath of a jealous friend and molesting boss?"

"I'm not sure."

"I'll gladly walk you home."

"Let me just get my things." she walked into the living room and put on her winter coat, then she wrapped a her sleeping daughter in a blanket. "Alright, i'm ready"

He smiled and extended his elbow outward, a classic way to ask for a woman's arm.

"I kind of have a kid to carry,"

"understood." he closed the opening and walked beside her. The night was cold, they had to walk a good 20 minutes to reach her apartment. He set his coat round the girls as an extra layer to keep them warm. Once they got to the apartment she walked up the stairs.

"Could you get my keys?"

He did so and unlocked the door, opening it for the two.

"Thanks," she walked inside and went to put Sapphire to bed, coming back to the doorway.

"You can keep the coat."

"I can't, it's snowing outside."

"I'll be fine."

"Kota, it's cold out"

"Keep it Saw."

"Get inside"

"huh?"

"Get inside Kota"

"Why?"

"Do it, now"

He sighed, knowing he wouldn't win, and walked inside. She closed and locked the door behind him, she took of both of the jackets and walked over to the sofa.

"I'm staying here against my will aren't I."

"You can leave if you agree to take your jacket with you."

"So what you're saying is yes."

"I guess so"

"Why won't you let me leave?" she walked over to him and held his hands, leading him to the sofa.

"Because I don't want you to be away anymore.."

He held her hands and went with her to the sofa.

"So let's talk about the reason why......"

"When I moved here my mom stopped paying the tuition so I couldn't stay in school. I had to work to keep this place so I worked full time. When I didn't work I'd take care of Sapphire, then I'd be busy all the time. I never had the time to go to places on my own and it was always too late at night to go out alone. I also had to stop my cell phone service after a month and then I got a new one but I didn't remember your number so I stayed in the dark." He gently pressed his finger against her lips.

"Listen. I understand how hard it is being out of school and having a full time job. And having a child on top of that, I can't even imagine how difficult it is. I just wanted to know why....why you lied to me before you left..."

"Because I knew I wouldn't have time for you, I knew I would be busy. So I thought it would be better if you forgot about me."

"That....that did not go along as you planned...." he looked down, ashamed.

"I though I did since you didn't recognize me..."

"I.....I've been in therapy for a little over a year. After I graduated early I went to med school. The owner of the hospital let me get my credits via paid internship at the hospital. Every day I had off I was in therapy for depression and abandonment issues.......you messed me up pretty badly when you left...."
