-Ashton-
I sigh contently, sitting down and staring at the clear blue of the lake. Where we had our first kiss. I grin over at the taller boy, but my smile falls when I see him standing with a worried look on his face. I open my mouth to say something, but he beats me to it.
"Um, Ashy?" Luke asks and I smile, getting a sense of deja vu.
"Yeah?"
"C-can I do something?" He asks nervously.
"What do you mean?" I ask, furrowing my eyebrows. I don't think he's playing anymore. I stand up, concerned.
"This." Luke blurts, kneeling down on one knee.
My hands fly up to my face, covering my mouth.
"The past 6 years I've spent with you so far have been incredible, Ashy. I want to make this short and sweet, since you already know how much I love you. Ashton Fletcher Irwin, will you marry me?" Luke pours his heart out.I feel tears come to my eyes.
"Yes." I whisper, and he wraps his arms around me tightly.
"Oh shit." He mutters, and I feel something fall around my feet. He lets go of me, and comes up with a velvet box. I giggle softly as he slides the ring onto my finger. I jump onto him, straddling his waist.
"Now you're mine forever." He says, kissing my lips quickly.
"I've been yours since we first met." I laugh, reaching up a hand to play with his slightly curly hair.
"True." He smiles. "Now let's go scare the shit out of our mums."
...
"Jamison!" I yell, continuing to flip the pancakes.
"In a minute daddy! I'm helping dad change Lindsey's diaper!" He yells back to me.
I sigh contently, smiling as I take the pancakes off the stove and I start thinking about how lucky I am. Through the years, with a little Soulmate magic, Luke helped me overcome my anxieties, and I helped him recover from his anorexia and self harm. He still has ADHD though, that's a persistent medical condition. Other than that, he's more or less a normal, healthy man.
We got married 5 years ago, and it was perfect. A while after that me and Luke went to go get tested to see if we were the 40% of males that could produce babies. Sadly, we found out we could not. So, we resorted to adopting.
We adopted our first kid as a newborn 4 years ago and named him Jamison. 2 years after that, we adopted Lindsey, also as a newborn. We got lucky, because both kids look exactly like us. Jamison has sandy blonde hair and bright blue eyes, while Lindsey has blonde hair and hazel eyes. Those two kids are the cutest things I've ever laid eyes on.
"Pancakes!" Jamison screams, running into the kitchen and hopping into his booster seat, waiting for one of us to buckle him in. Luke strolls in, carrying Lindsey who's poking his nose and giggling.
I smile at the sight, helping Luke get Lindsey and Jamison into their highchairs and booster seats. I lean down, kissing both of their cheeks while Luke prepares the plates of pancakes.
"Daddy!" Lindsey squeals, making my head snap back to her.
"Yes Linds?" I smile.
"I wan pan-kaes." She smiles sweetly, and I laugh at how she pronounces 'pancakes'.
"Of course baby." Luke says, walking over with two plates of pancakes, putting one in front of Jamison and dumping the other one on the tray in front of Lindsey.
"Thank you dada." Lindsey grins, picking up a piece of pancake.
"Thanks dad and daddy." Jamison says, stuffing the pancakes in his mouth.
