Follow Ashton, a small, anxious boy, on his journey before and after meeting his soulmate.
We start at one week.
"Ashton, are you okay?" Mum asks, after I walk into the house with a dazed expression.
"Yeah." I mumble.
Mum frowns, pulling me into the living room and sitting me down on the couch.
"Ashton, talk to me." Mum says in a concerned tone.
"It's just-" I pause, sighing before I speak again. "It's just that there are three more days. I'm nervous. Mikey says not to but I still am, and I have a right to be."
"Ash, do you need to see your therapist again?" Mum whispers, and I shake my head violently, tossing around my annoying curls.
"It's not like that. I'm just worried he won't like me because of my anxiety. I want him to like me." She pushes the hair off my forehead, pressing a kiss to it.
"Ash, I believe that no matter what, your Soulmate will love you. You just need to calm down, take a few deep breaths, and remember that you two are destined to be together. You're Soulmates." I nod, letting mum hold me tightly to her chest.
"I love you Ashton." She says, kissing my forehead again.
"I love you two mum."
Now I know, even if my Soulmate leaves me, I have the world's best mum to stay with, forever.
