CHAPTER 7

I stood there, shocked. River had just kissed me.

Arion whooped in the background, but it was muffled and I could barely hear him. "Okay, that's enough," Drexel called and River backed away from me.

I stood there in a daze, confused at what had just happened. "Let's keep moving," I called as River grinned at me. Ugh, he was such an idiot. I looked over at Arion and Jennifer, they were kissing against a tree, ew. "Guys, seriously if we're gonna get out of here, we need to move." They ignored me. "I guess we're staying here for the night."

I set up the tents while River tried to start the fire. He struggled. Might as well help if I can get the fire thing to work again. "Here, let me." I grabbed the two rocks that were in his hand and threw them. I put my hands over the pile of wood and concentrated on them. After a few seconds, they burst into flames, which should've burned my fingers, but for River's sake, I pretended that they had. "Ouch!" I pulled my hands away fast and held them to my chest. "Don't tell a soul."

He looked bewildered, but not scared. "I won't, I promise... But what was that?"

"I don't know, it's just something that happened earlier and I don't know what's going on." I sighed and looked over at Arion and Jennifer, they had finally stopped kissing.

Jennifer motioned for me to come over to her. "Look, I'm sorry, seriously. I didn't mean to blow up on you."

"It's fine. I'm not mad," then I gave her an evil grin, "I won't be mad if you go scream at Drexel and tell him to leave River alone."

She paled. "I happen to like my life, I will do anything but that."

I shrugged. "Okay then."

Jennifer growled. "Fine." She stomped over to Arion. "I need you to come with me." He stood and followed her to Drexel's tent. He had fallen asleep from exhaustion earlier. I followed behind to listen. "Drexel, I need to talk to you." He groaned and opened the mouth of the tent.

"What do you want?"

"You have to stop annoying River, seriously." Drexel was still half asleep and would do anything to make us go away.

"Yes, whatever." He groaned again and went back in the tent.

I grinned at him and looked back at River. He sat next to Colton and was drawing in the dirt with him.

I walked over. "Hey, River, Colton." They looked up at me. "Whatcha guys doing?"

River gave me a weird look before standing up with me and wrapping an arm around my waist. "Nothing, I was just showing him how to draw a gun and the dragon knife that you have." I looked at the dirt and saw that my knife was drawn perfectly in the dirt. "Come on, let's go set up our tent-"

"I am not sharing a tent with you, I am perfectly fine with you sharing one with Drexel," I glared at him.

"Too bad." He picked me up and carted me off to the tent that had all my stuff in it. I was shoved inside and he crawled in after me. "You set it all up like the good wifey you are, and I will watch you work." River laid back and out his hands behind his head.

"Shut up," I smacked him with a shirt, but froze when I realized what he had said. "I am not a wifey, idiot and you are not sleeping my tent. Especially not after the stunt you pulled earlier."

"I thought you enjoyed it, I certainly did, guess we'll need to practice more often." River started to crawl towards me. I squealed and backed away from him.
