CHAPTER 12
I just stared at him. "Is this a joke?" He shook his head.
"Go find River, he'll tell you," Jackal said and the men moved, giving me a passage to the stairs. As I passed, they bowed. This only made me walk faster until finally I had reached River's room.
I didn't even pause to knock, I just stormed straight in. "River, your dad-"
He walked up to me and kissed me on the lips, his calloused hands gently cupping my cheeks. I wrapped my hands around his wrists, but didn't push him away. After what seemed like an eternity, he pulled back, leaving my head spinning. "He told you then?" I nodded. "And you're okay with...?"
I grinned. "Marrying you? Is that even a question?" River smiled again. "It just seems so far fetched, you know?"
"I could care less how 'far fetched' it seems, all I care about is that I love you and you love me," his words melted my heart. "I love you, Eden, I love you so much it hurts."
I grinned. "I know and I love you too."
"Wait," I heard Drexel say. "You said your-"
I smacked his chest and pushed him out of the room, muttering, "You ruined the moment Drexel."
He laughed from the other side of the door. "That was kinda the point."
Yet somehow, River and I were able to look back at each other and the moment was restored. We met in the middle of the room and just started kissing.
When we were suddenly, on the bed, and I was just starting to think we were going a bit far, I shoved him off a bit. "Are you sure you love me and want me to stay?"
River laughed. "Never been as sure as I am now, kid." He nuzzled my neck with his nose.
~We planned on marrying when we were older and started on a plan to kill all of the Wolves. We lost a lot of friends along the way, but we did what we thought was needed. It took a while, but we finally did it. Two years later, River had decided that we were gonna have kids. I hadn't wanted to at first, but I loved the thought of us starting a family together, so we did.~
