CHAPTER 8
"God, Jennifer," I growled and yanked the blankets over my chest.
She grinned. "Sorry, you guys need to get dressed before I tell Drex that he can come in, or we just gonna stare at each other all night?"
I flipped her off and she got out, talking to someone on the other side of the door. River grinned and threw me his shirt. "I am not wearing-"
"Oh shut up and just put it on." He grinned at me.
The shirt fell to about mid-thigh. "It's too big, I'm not wearing it," I complained.
River had already grabbed my hand and was tugging me to the door. He opened the door before I could stop him and on the other side sat Drexel, looking pissed.
"Drex-"
He turned and walked away. Everyone looked at each other, no one knowing what to do. I wanted to follow Drexel but that would just make matters worse.
I turned to look at River, but he was avoiding eye contact. I rolled my eyes and muttered, "Screw it," hurrying after Drexel.
No one came with me, and what did I expect? He was like a bomb, ready to blow up at any second with just the right word.
"Drex?" He sat on a step outside, his back to me. "Drexel, seriously, come on, it's cold out here."
He shook his head. "Nah, like the cold, and besides, what do you care?"
I walked out, in the snow, and sat next to him. "I can stay out here and wait with you."
He laughed. "Thanks for making this an easy decision." Drexel picked me up bridal style and brought me back into the building with our friends. "Get some clothes on and I might just not kill River."
I rolled my eye, but went into my room and threw on some pants under River's shirt. "Eden?"
I spun, seeing Colton at the foot of my bed. "Hey, what are you doing?"
He sat down on the bed. "I wanted to talk to you earlier, but River was eating you."
I burst out laughing. "Yeah okay, go tell River that quick and then come back so we can talk." He hurried out of the room. The was a loud sound of laughter, probably from everyone laughing at him. I walked out to them and they were all laughing, Jennifer had fallen over and was crying. River almost seemed to be blushing, but he was also laughing.
Arion had missed the comment and was limping up the stairs with an odd expression on his face.
"Okay, Colton, come on, let's go." We walked back into my room and River followed.
"Did you tell him to say that?" he whispered in my ear. I shook my head. "Whatever, I don't believe you."
I focused on Colton, ignoring the idiot beside me. "What did you want to talk about?"
"Are we staying here? I like it here, there's a nice maid in my room who likes me."
I smiled and hugged him to my chest. "We can stay if you want to."
He smiled and wandered off. I turned to River, and he said, "I hate knowing that he watched me, I feel super bad now."
I grinned and laid back on his chest. "So, you feel bad about him but not for my brother?"
He nodded. "Drexel can deal with it, Colton doesn't even know what happened. He quite literally thought I was eating you." I laughed again. "He's a cute kid."
"Yeah." I looked at the door he had just walked out of. "Have you ever wondered what it would be like to have been born a Sheep?" I covered my mouth. "Oh my god, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to- I was just wondering!"
