It is still winter break, and I’m going to surprise Laylee with tickets to New York. I want to spend New Year’s Eve and New Years with her. It’s a little out of the blue, but I know she’ll love it. She texted me her address, so for the first time I’m going to get to see her house. It’s about a 20 minute drive from my house.

I look around her neighborhood in awe. It does look like a rich neighborhood, it’s so beautiful. I thought my neighborhood was beautiful, but damn. I look around for the right house with the number she gave me. Once I find it I pull into her driveway.

I grab the tickets, and put them in my back pocket. I hope she agrees to going, it cost a lot for these tickets.

I walk up to her house, even her house is beautiful. It’s a brick home with a grayish tone; the front of her house is outlined with well-trimmed bushes. Good thing they aren’t trimmed in those silly shapes. It smells so good outside of her house, but its cold I need to hurry up and get inside. I press the doorbell waiting for someone to come to the door. Laylee opens the door, and a smile appears on my face. She opens the door and hugs me tightly.

“Hey…” I close my eyes holding her close. I missed the way her body felt against mine.

“Hey Aub, come on in.” She pulls back and grabs my hand leading me inside.

I stare speechlessly at how the inside of her house is decorated perfectly, complementary colors, and everything matches.

“Geez, who decorated the house? It’s amazing…” I look around.

            “I did.”

            “No way… there’s no way.”

“Yes way, doubting my abilities are we now?” She glares at me.

“No… No M’am. Are your mom and Daniel here?” I ask still looking around in awe.

She holds my hand walking upstairs. “No, they went out to eat. Their anniversary is the 30th of December.”

“Sounds nice. I feel like a teenage lover coming over to your house while your parents are gone.” I laugh a little and Laylee looks back at me smiling.

She shows me all of the rooms upstairs, saving her room for last. Lauren’s room was horribly messy, and she doesn’t even live here. I don’t know how her room at the dorm manages to stay clean.

“Okay, this is my room…” Laylee pushes the door open slowly, and I stare in her room.

I walk inside looking around. “Wow… I’m glad your room is cleaned un-like Lauren’s.” I look at her walls that have pictures of her and her friends from high school. I look over at her open closet to see a pair of underwear laying there. I laugh a little to myself, and I walk over to her underwear.

“Well someone isn’t completely neat huh?” I pick up the underwear showing her.

“Aubrey…. Those are the underwear I was wearing Christmas Eve.”

I stare at her wondering what she’s talking about. I open my eyes wide once I realize what she means. I drop the underwear and smile a bit at her.

“You’re so funny…” She says walking over to me.

I feel her cold hands slide in the back of my shirt and she lays her head on my chest. I bite my lip a little to her cold fingers, but I get use to it. I rub her back slowly. “I have a surprise for you.” I say.
