Ok, I know this chapter is short, and I'm sorry. But the next chapter is the last, and it is the wedding so it'll be long. Thank you so much for reading this story and the first one to this sequel!
“I’m so happy for you!” My mom hugs me tightly and I grunt.
I Smile. “Okay, okay mom… your killing me.”
She lets go smiling big at me, and I smile back.
“So you were the one to propose?” She asks.
“Yes.”
“How’d you do it?”
“Well, let’s say it wasn’t pleasant at first. But Laylana was gone the whole day on Valentine’s Day, so when she got home I ignored her. I told her I didn’t want to be her girlfriend anymore. She left the room, came back, and yelled at me what did she do wrong. I told her the same thing again about two more times. Finally I said “I don’t want to be your girlfriend anymore. I want to be your wife.” I got down on one knee, she thought I was joking, but I wasn’t. Once she realized it, she said yes…” I smile thinking about how happy she looked even though before she was crying.
“I would have been so pissed if your father proposed to me that way.”
I chuckle a little. “Yeah. But you have to admit, it was surprising.”
“I agree.”
I see Melanie come down the stairs and I give her a big smile. “Hey Melon.”
She stares at me frowning, and I get up walking over to her. I give her a confused look.
“You’re getting married…” She says slowly in an upset tone.
“Yeah, does that bother you…?”
She hugs me tight and I rub her back. I lean down kissing the top of her head and I move her hair out of her face to look in her eyes.
“Does that mean I’m losing you…”
“No… No Melanie… I’m getting older that’s all. And who knows maybe you’ll be an aunt one day.” I smile at her running my fingers through her hair. She stares at me weirdly. I guess she doesn’t know how that would work, but I don’t want to explain. I just laugh at her reaction. “You’ll understand when you’re just a little older, I promise.”
“Okay, I love you sissy.”
“I love you too Melon.”
“Will you still come over to see me?”
“Of course, it won’t be any different than living with Laylana. I’ll just be married to her.”
“So that means she’ll be my sister-in-law. Yay!” Melon jumps up in excitement and I laugh. “Yes, very true.” I agree.
***At home***
“Hey Laylee.” I smile as I see her on the couch looking at something. I walk over to her and I give her a peck on the check.
“Hey lovely. I missed you.” She kisses my lips.
“I missed you too, what do you have here?” I look at this huge binder full of pictures.
“Promise you won’t think I’m weird.”
“I promise…”
She flips all of the pages to the front and I look at it. I see the word ‘Wedding’.
“Well, before you proposed to me…” She pauses flipping through the pages and I watch.
She continues to talk. “I have seen this binder full of wedding things. I have looked at it a couple of times, in case we ever did get married.”
I lay my hand on her back rubbing it as I sit down beside of her. I grab the pages and flip through them slowly. I don’t blame her for looking at these pictures, they are very beautiful. I don’t know if she wants a big wedding though, I’m not really into that.
“Hey…um…. How big do you want the wedding?” I look at her.
She turns her head looking at me for a bit. “You know…. I don’t know…” She hesitates a little.
“It doesn’t have to be big. In my mind, I see outside, chairs, our family & friends, and near a lake. But that’s just what I see in my mind. You’re in this wedding too you know… I want your opinions also.” She smiles at me.
“Hmm, okay. Everything your saying is in my mind too. But where should the wedding be?”
She stares at the binder for a bit. I can tell she’s thinking about it. I was thinking Canada, or California even though that’s a lot of trouble, because Canada is far away from Arizona.
“Canada.”
I look at her shocked. “Wow really? I was thinking the same.”
We both stare into each other’s eyes smiling and she breaks the silence.
“I can’t… I can’t believe, I’m going to be marrying you… I mean it’s you…” She smiles big.
“Yeah well it is me…” I say cockingly.
“Oh I see how it is now. Somebody has a lot of confidence.”
“Nope, I know I can make you happy forever though…” I kiss her lips closing my eyes. I’m so thankful I met her… she’s my everything.
“So I was thinking…” I stare in her eyes as she speaks. Everything seems to fade around us, but I’m still listening. I’m so happy right now though… she’s telling me the flowers she wants, and dinners. Who would have known that I would be marring her? I’m lucky.
“What…” I snap back to reality as she says that.
“Nothing…. I’m so happy… that’s all…” I smile
