After such a long flight of Laylee gripping my hand or arm, we have finally arrived in New York. It’s late at night though, almost midnight which will make it New Year’s Eve.

“Geez Laylee, have you never flown before?”

“N-no….” She says as her hand shakes while holding mine.

“I think I have bruises as a memory of you flying for the first time.” I lift my sleeve up staring at my arm. “Laylee…” I say agitated a little.

“I’m sorry baby, I was scared… I eventually fell asleep.” She gives me the puppy dog face.

            “It’s okay…” I kiss her lips softly.

I look at people as they stare at us weirdly. Wow, New York isn’t very homo-friendly in this area. I walk with Laylee outside of the airport, and rent a car.

“You drive.” Laylee stares at me handing me the keys.

“Fine, I like driving anyways.” I smile.

We drive around for a little before going to our hotel. Laylee stares around as if she’s never known New York before. I mean I’ve seen pictures, but I guess I don’t blame her. We finally reach our hotel, and I stare at it. We look at each other and then back at the hotel.

“Wow” the word slips through both of our lips at the same time.

The hotel looks so elegant. I can’t wait to see inside.

Once we walk inside, I hear Laylee let out a tiny scream of excitement. I stare at her and laugh. “Don’t you just love me for spending all of my money on this trip.” I smile.

“Love you? I wish there were a word that was above love… of course I love you.” She smiles at me.

Laylee keeps calm through checking in and walking around, but once we get to our room she screams. I didn’t know she had a girly side of her. I shouldn’t tell her that though she’ll get pissed at me.

“Aubrey! Look!” She opens blinds and you can see the whole view of New York.

My eyes open wide, and I start to feel dizzy. “Holy shit…..”

            “Are you okay?”

“Oh god…. I’m so scared of heights right now.”

She laughs at me a little and hugs me. “Aww, its okay… I’m right here.”

I feel her let go of me and run into the bathroom.

“Oh my god!” She screams again. She’s mean, I wanted to hug her longer.

“The bathroom is so huge! The tub is even huge! I love this!” She walks around fast back in forth in the bathroom looking at every detail of it. I shake my head at her.

“You are the best girlfriend ever.” I feel her chest against my back as she wraps her arms around me. I smile and rub her arms.

“I wanted to spend this time with you.  I didn’t get Christmas with you, so why not New Year’s?” I turn around to face her and I stare in her beautiful light green eyes. I put my thumb on her chin as my index finger lies under her chin in a curve shape. She leans in kissing my lips, and I return her a soft kiss.
