Ian Somerhalder is in New York. I repeat, Ian Somerhalder is in New York. The actor, most famous for his character Boone in Lost and currently Damon Salvatore in The Vampire Diaries has been pictured arriving at JFK airport.

Just a few hours ago the blue eyed heart throb posted a pic of himself to Instagram on a plane bound for New York. Now we have proof that was in actual fact the case. Fans of not only Ian's but also of model/actress Skye Parker were quick to jump to the assumption that he had flown in to see her and got very excited. The hashtag #Skian began to trend once more across social media and the pair did nothing to squash the happiness of their loyal fan base.
In response to Ian's Instagram post Skye posted the following on her own.

Now if that doesn't suggest she's awaiting the arrival of our favourite TV vamp then nothing will. Also note the plane emoji suggesting the person she is referring is arriving/landing soon.
It's safe to say that the "Skian shippers" as they are now known went into complete meltdown, most concluding this as confirmation of their budding romance. Ian's comment on Skye's post only went to cement it further,

Keep your eyes pealed fellow romantics. Now knowing that Ian and Skye are both in the same city and no doubt seeing each other, it should just be a matter of time before we catch a glimmer of the good ship Skian on the horizon.
