Just 4 days ago on New Year's Eve, Ian and Skye Somerhalder announced via Instagram that they are expecting their first baby together.
Since the news broke #BabySkian has been trending worldwide across all of social media. Judging by thousands of comments it seems that everyone wants a first glimpse at any baby bump there may be.
The Vampire Diaries stars arrived back in New York yesterday, setting up camp in the apartment they share together when they're not in L.A or filming their hit show.
With everyone on bump watch it was only a matter of time before the pair were snapped. Lucky for us, we got the first pics.

With Skye wearing a loose fit sweater it's hard to see any signs of baby Somerhalder, but looking at her overall figure it would appear that the model/actress isn't very far along in the pregnancy. After some research based on the scan picture posted on her Instagram, we've been told she is approximately 3-4 months along. Come on bump, where are you?
Just a few months ago, Skye was in a very serious car accident which left her fighting for her life. Since her recovery Ian can't be blamed for being very protective of his wife. Especially now with her carrying precious cargo, it looks like the Salvatore hottie is not letting anyone get near his 'Princess'.

With arms outstretched in a defensive pose, Ian is in full bodyguard mode. The expectant Mom, who is cuddling close to her husband from behind clearly has nothing to worry about. It looks like hubby has her and baby well looked after.
Now the question is, are they going to write the pregnancy into TVD? Their co-star Candice King is also pregnant, but much further along. As a result a pregnancy storyline has been written into Season 7 so she can continue filming. With only half of the new episodes filmed, it's only a matter of time before Skye's bump finally appears and may become an issue. Will Damon and Holly somehow get pregnant? Will Holly just start standing behind things that hide her stomach? Or will they even go so far as to write her out of the show?
