Stars Come Out For Skye
It's now been exactly a week since model and Vampire Diaries actress Skye Parker was in a serious car crash in downtown Los Angeles.
Reports came through thick and fast in the immediate aftermath of the tragedy, but it was close personal friend Justin Timberlake, who confirmed via Instagram the news we'd all been dreading.
Although JT's details were vague, he did state that Skye was in a critical condition and fighting for her life.
Since that post, the hashtag #PrayForSkye has been trending worldwide on social media, people from all corners of the globe voicing their support and best wishes for the starlet and her fiancée, Ian Somerhalder.
Other than the odd rumour there has been no information regarding the exact nature of Skye's injuries. All we do know for certain is that she is still a patient in UCLA's ICU (Intensive Care Unit). The proof being the numerous visits to the ward from the likes of Justin and wife Jessica Biel, Ian's Mother Edna Somerhalder, and of course Ian himself.
The Intensive Care Unit's in all hospitals cater to patients who are suffering from life threatening injury. This could include organ issues, breathing difficulties and serious head trauma. If Skye is dealing with even one of these conditions then indeed she is very seriously ill.
Ian, who has been at her bedside since the moment he was notified of the accident, was photographed just this morning leaving the home they both share (see pic below).
With his unshaven face shielded by a hat and dark glasses, it looks like our favourite vampire is truly suffering whilst his fiancée is in hospital. Usually very smiley and welcoming to the press, the pictures from this morning display a stark contrast. Further proof that Skye must still be in a very serious state.
On social media alongside the #PrayForSkye tag, stars from all sectors of show biz have been posting their own comments and/or pictures of the ailing model.
Oscar winner Eddie Redmayne posted a picture of him and Skye at the GQ Fashion Awards earlier this year.
He captioned it "A dear heart and an even dearer friend. Please keep her in your thoughts."
Fellow supermodel Rosie Huntington-Whitely shared this sweet snap, accompanied with the comment, "The smile that lights up a whole runway. She'll be fine. She has to be. #PrayForSkye"
Kat Graham, who plays witch Bonnie Bennett on Skye's show The Vampire Diaries posted this photo to her Instagram page. The words she included were "Look at that smile? Please let me see that again."
It hasn't just been celebrities that have been sharing their pictures with the star, her fans have too.
Skye has a huge fanbase, currently boasting over 6 million followers on her Twitter page alone. She has always voiced how much she loves her supporters and how important they are to her. It's pretty clear from their reactions during the past week that she is just as important to them.
@SkyePIdol on Twitter shared a photo of when she met the star. Her comment has earnt her over 50,000 RT's so far...
@SkyePIdol She always seems just as excited to meet us as we are to meet her. We love you @skyeparker and we always will #PrayForSkye
Another fan @TeamHollyTVD posted this photo on her own page. Her tweet stated that this was taken only 2 days before the collision.
@TeamHollyTVD Bumped into Skye and Ian at a restaurant 2 days before it happened. They are both amazing. Thinking of them both.
It's obvious how much Skye is loved, admired and idolised. We wish her a speedy recovery and look forward to having her back on her feet and smiling once again. Stay strong everybody and keep trending #PrayForSkye
