Nick

When I heard Demi ask, "Where's Reid?" my heart fell into my stomach. As I turned around to look for him, I felt my body shake from fear. I didn't see my son, anywhere. I took off my hat, like it would help me see better & I started calling his name, each time getting a little louder, hoping he was close enough to hear my tone & come running. My voice was serious as I yelled out his name, repeatedly. It was also fearful, but I was trying not to let that come out.

Demi was screaming out Reid's name & then she stopped, because it had been a full five minutes with no sign of him & she started freaking out. I saw the tears in her eyes. I saw her head shaking, in disbelief. I saw the horror in her expression when her gaze met mine. Her body started to crumble & I ran to her, wrapping my arms around her so she wouldn't fall to the ground. She was sobbing because this seemed hopeless. Reid went missing in a crowd of hundreds of thousands, in a park that was the size of a small town.

I held Demi in my arms & shushed her as I ran my hand over her hair. "We're going to find him. He couldn't have gone far."

Demi nodded, her head, as some park officials approached us to ask questions

Demi nodded, her head, as some park officials approached us to ask questions. They asked if we had a photo of Reid & Demi nodded, again as she pulled her phone out of her pocket. She tearfully, looked through her phone. "I took this before we ate lunch." She said in a soft voice, handing her phone to one of the gentleman. As she passed it to him, I saw the photo of Reid & my heart ached. He was smiling so big as he stood with a Disney character.

I felt helpless as Demi answered all the questions. We were surrounded by Disneyland police & we heard them dispatching other officers throughout the park. Reid's photo was sent out to employees of the park & I prayed someone would find our son soon. It was making me anxious not knowing where he was, or if he was okay. Reid was nine, but he was still a kid. He still made questionable choices & he was still impulsive. He'd talk to anyone, which is the part that scared me the most. There are a lot of crazy people in the world & I'm sure some of them were here in this park.

Demi put her arms around my waist & laid her head on my chest. "What if someone took him, Nick?" She asked, in a strained whisper.

"He probably ran off. He'll turn up. He's probably on a ride or something." I kissed the top of Demi's head. What I said didn't comfort her, because she buried her face in my chest & started sobbing harder.

"Mr. Jonas?" I heard a small voice & turned to see Logan standing beside me.

"Yea, Logan?"

"I may know where Reid is."

"How would you know where Reid is?" I asked as Demi popped her head up.

"Last night when we were playing Legos, he was talking about how excited he was to go to the big Lego store here. He said he didn't even care about the rides."
