"I had that nightmare every night ever since I got back. Eventually, I got used to it. I was numb again." I say.

"I'm so sorry you had to go through that. You did kill the devil, though! You are the reason my people can live without bad!" He says.

"I wouldn't say that. I just helped." I smile.

"What happened after you got back? What was your life like?" He asks.

"Well, that is a different story for another time!" I laugh.

He puts His hand on my shoulder and gives me a look of sympathy.
"You're safe, now. Everything will be okay," He says." Malika, do you want to see your father?"

"Yes. I think I'm ready. Will he even recognise me?" I ask.

"Of course he will!" He assures me.

I smile and walk up to the man I call Father. He starts crying as I approach him and he hugs me tightly.

"I'm so happy to see you, but why are you here so soon, Malika?" Father asks.

"That's a different story for another time." I say.

"Maybe you should get some rest. I'll show you to your room."

"How can I sleep when I don't have dreams? I just have nightmares." I quote.

"Malika, did you really just quote The Neighbourhood?" he laughs. I shrug and smile. "There will be no more nightmares. There will be no more nightmares..."
