My eyebrows crease together in a frown as I process what my mother just said. He will be staying with us? Honestly, I wasn't expecting that at all, but it would explain why he wanted to walk with me.

My thoughts are interrupted when I hear the door opening again, but this time it's my father.

"Hi dad, how was your day?" I ask with a smile.

"It was good princess, how about you?" He says giving me a hug.

"My day was good." I say directing my eyes back to Sean who is looking down while rubbing his arm.

"Good." He says and then follows my gaze. When he looks at him he looks a little surprised. "Oh, sorry Sean, I didn't know you were already here."

"No problem, um sir." He says awkwardly.

"It's alright Sean, you can call me Luis."

"Okay." He says relaxing his shoulders. "Thank you Luis." He awkwardly says making me cringe a bit.

"Well," my mother says interrupting the silence. "Dinner is ready, why don't you take a seat?"

As we have dinner, I can't help to to think about the current situation. My father knows Sean too? They don't seem as close as close as my mom and Sean though.

"Are you alright Melody?" My mother asks.

"Huh?" I ask looking up from my plate. "Oh, it's nothing, I was just thinking, sorry about that." I say and continue to eat.

My parents make small talk after that and I can't help but glancing up at him. Should I know him too?

After dinner, I help my mom washing the dishes. The comfortable silence is interrupted by Sean's voice asking "is there anything I can help with?"

"Not at the moment." My mother responds with a smile, then she turns to face me. "Melody, why don't you show Sean the guest room so he can get settled in?"

Putting the dishes down I nod and signal for Sean to follow me. We head up the stairs in silence until we reach the guest room. "This is the guest room." I say awkwardly trying to avoid eye contact. "My room is across from yours if you need anything."

"Thanks Melody." He says entering the room slowly and looking at everything. Then he touches the bed and sits on it staring outside. "I'll be downstairs if you need me." I say closing the door behind me. Even though I don't remember him he doesn't seem like a total stranger. Was it me or did he seem a little lost?

With a shrug I head downstairs and continue to wash dishes.

My mother hums softly as she cleans the table, I don't really want to interrupt but I really want to know what's going on.

"Hey mom?" I say loud enough for her to hear me.

"What is it dear?" She says directing her attention to me.

"How do you know Sean? You too seem kind of close."

At first she looks taken back but when she recovers she answers. "His mother and I were close friends."

"Oh okay."

"Why? Is everything alright?"

"Yeah, I was just wondering." I say placing the last plate in its place. "I'm kind of tired mom, I think I'm going to go to bed."

"Okay sweetie, good night."

"Good night mom." As I head back upstairs she continues her humming.

As I lay in bed, I keep tossing and turning thinking about the stranger.

There is something about him but I can't place my finger on it.....

Agh....and then there's that thing he said earlier.

After struggling I finally give up and decide to ask him tomorrow, maybe by then something will come to mind.
