The end of the school day finally came and as soon as the bell rings Sean and I run outside the classroom to meet up with the others.
As we approach, I see Alex leans against the wall. When he hears us approaching he looks up and smirks.
"Alright!" He says throwing a fist in the air. "Now that everyone is here, let's get going."
Everyone whoops as we start walking laughing as we go.
"So what do you want to do first?" Alex asks, his brown eyes sparkling with excitement.
"What do you recommend?" Alana asks.
"Food." Alex says running his hand through his dirty blonde hair.
"Sounds good to me." Ariadne says with a smile.
Distracted by everyone's conversation, I didn't see the rock in front of me and by the time I know it the ground is close to me. A force on my arm holds me steady and helps me to my feet.
As we look up, our faces are only a few inches apart. Noticing this, Damien clears his throat and stands up letting go of my arm.
"T-thank you." I say looking away to hide my blushing cheeks. He just responds with a nod and walks to the opposite side of the group.
Pulling a strand of hair behind my ear, I take a small breath in and hurry to walk closer to Alex.
"So, I've been thinking," Alana says looking up at the sky, "when we first got here you said that you don't have many visitors, but I just saw several awards of popularity...."
"Ah...that....." Alex says looking at me and scratching the back of his head. "Our town used to be really popular back in the good old days but then..."
"It was mostly popular because of the good quality fish they sold here, but lately the fisherman have been struggling a lot to catch fish, so our popularity decreased." I say finishing for him.
"Yeah, that's pretty much it." Alex says with a satisfied nod. "Melody knows more about this since her dad is a fisherman."
"Has he mentioned why there are no fish?" Ariadne asks.
"He's not really sure but he thinks that since our fish became popular, the fisherman got greedy and overfished our waters."
"That makes sense."
As we walk I take a quick glance at Damien who quickly looks away before we can make eye contact.
"Oh, you guys have to try this!" Alex exclaims dragging Sean and Damien with him.
As the boys walk away I walk closer to Ariadne and ask, "Does Damien not like me?"
With a small laugh and a small smile she replies, "It's not that. Damien is just not much of a talker until you get to know him better. Just give him some time." She says and I nod hoping that she's right.
The guys come back with a cool bracelet and wave it in front of us successfully getting Ariadne's attention.
"Where did you get that? I want one too!" She says running after Alex.
"Come on slow pokes!" Alex says laughing. "We have a lot to do before sunset."
When I look around, I notice that only Sean and I are left, everyone else followed Alex.
"You want to get some ice Cream?" Sean asks and I nod without hesitating.
We reach a bench and Sean stands in front of me. "I'll go get it. You can wait here."
"O-okay." I say giving him a small smile.
After waiting a few minutes Sean comes back with a big smile on his face and hands me a pistachio flavored ice cream.
"Thank you." I say as he sits next to me.
"No problem." He says with a smile.
As we eat our ice cream we both remain silent and as I look at Sean he seems a bit sad.
"You remembered my favorite ice cream flavor." I say with a smile and he looks at me. "Yours is the blue moon flavor right?" I ask and he nods with a big smile.
"We used to come here after we would play." He says looking at the distance.
Before I can ask anything else, our group arrives and drags us towards the beach.
"Come on!" Alana says. "We are going to kiss it!"
As the sun starts to set, we place our towels on the sand and watch the sunset in silence, listening to the peaceful waves.
When it starts getting darker we pack up our stuff and get ready to head back home, that is until I realize that Sean isn't walking with me.
"Where are you going?" I ask when I see him standing with Damien a few steps behind.
"We are going to stay out a bit longer." Sean says.
"Okay, but be careful." I say heading back home.
My mom smiles as I open the door. "Hey sweetie, how did it go?"
"I was fun." I say with a smile.
"Where's Sean?"
"He said he was going to stay out a bit longer." I say yawning slightly. "I'm off to bed."
As I comfortably lay in bed and close my eyes, I feel myself falling into a pit of darkness, slightly jolting up when my body is surrounded by something cold.
At first I can't really see anything, but then as I look from side to side something bright makes me look down.
There on my wrist I see a glowing symbol emitting a greenish light.
The dream fades as I feel a rush of water hiring my face...
