Mia's POV

I spent this whole day with Ethan and I'm not even complaining. And considering I wasn't too tired, I called Brie to see if she wanted to go shopping. She said yeah so I went to go pick her up.

"What changed your mind about going to homecoming?"

"Well, after Ethan and I made it official, I–"

"Wait what? Back this train up."

"Yeah, we went roller blading and he asked me if I wanted to be his girlfriend and I said yes."

"Mia, you're gonna get dragged real deep into their drama."

"But I'm happy." she stared at me. "Anyway, he asked me to go to homecoming with him and I also said yes to that."

"Did you say yes to him all night after you left the bowling alley?" she smirked.

I playfully smacked her.

"Macy's having a sale, so let's hit that store up first."

"When's homecoming anyway?"

"What's today? Friday already? Then it's tomorrow night. Ew that means break's ending soon."

"Yikes. That just means that we need to get a dress ASAP."

We shopped for a good 2-3 hours before settling for a dress. And to be honest, the dresses we chose look pretty cute. They were both short dresses. Brie's dress was a simple white dress and had a small crystal belt around the waist. My dress was an ombré blue with sparkles and ruffles. Nothing too fancy. Probably only gonna wear this dress once anyway.

"Now for your makeup, I was thinking a–"

"I'm not the biggest fan of makeup..." I interrupted her.

"At least a little mascara and eyeliner."

"Now that I'm okay with."

Ethan's POV

"How was today?" Cameron asked. "With your little mystery girl."

"Grayson did y–"

"Calm down. He didn't have to tell me. I figured it out."

"Sure you did." I rolled my eyes.

"Let's see. You're out real late, you're gone for almost the entire day, checking your phone every 2 seconds. Suddenly a lot more happy all the time. So it's either a girl or you're on drugs."

"Her name's Mia." I said.

"Is that the one you ran off with on Friday?"

"We didn't run." I sassed.

"You're dumb." Grayson shook his head. "Did you ask her to homecoming?"

"That and I asked her to be my girlfriend and she said yes to both."

"Now you just have to get her to say yes in bed." Cameron winked. Grayson laughed.

I was close, but she wanted to be safe and I respect that.

"That's desgusting." I went up to my room.

"Did anything weird happen today?" Grayson shut the door.

"We were taking pictures in the photo booth... and in two of the pictures, my eyes were glowing. Mia said the booth was probably just messed up or something, but I don't think so."

"Why not?"

"In the other two, you couldn't see my eyes and they turned out looking normal. And if it were to be messed up, why didn't it happen to her eyes too? She looked normal in all the pics." I rubbed the back of my neck, "I don't wanna hurt her."

"You're not going to."

Mia's POV

It's the night of the dance and I'm so excited. To see Brie in her dress, Ethan in his suit, a genuine night to have fun. I'm carpooling with Brie, considering she didn't have anyone else to ride with. Jack came thru and said he'll be her date but he's going to meet her there. Something about that kid is so sketchy. I don't like it.

When we got to the dance, I looked for Ethan. And there he stood, hands in his pocket, talking to Grayson and a few other guys. Grayson judged him and he turned around. The moment he turned and saw me, his eyes lit up. I've never had someone look at me the way he is right now.

He walked over to me, "you look amazing."

He kissed me.

"You don't clean up too bad yourself, Dolan." I smiled.

"Let's go outside." he took my hand. We ran out to his car and sat there. I think I know where this is headed. Then we heard something creak. What a way to ruin the moment. "Stay here."

"Ethan."

"I'll be okay."

He got out of the car and looked both ways. Two cars were coming at him. He jumped up above the hood of both cars and looked at me. What I saw next... I couldn't take in.
