three years later

Ethan's POV

I have yet to find someone to love. I've been on a few dates but none of them have made me feel a connection or a spark.

I talk to her a lot. She's in my dreams very often. I've dreamt that she's well and alive. I've dreamt about our future together, having little versions of us running around the house. Something that never got to reach reality.

Brie moved away because the few memories she made with Mia here were too much. She wanted to get away from all of it. I don't blame her.

flashback to five months ago

I have a medium here to see if Mia has anything to say to me, assuming she's here at this moment. Plus I've seen Hollywood Medium with Tyler Henry and the whole idea of speaking to people on the other end of life seems interesting.

"Do you have an object I can hold to see if she has anything to say? There's a ton of energy coming in right now."

"Uh yeah. I have one of her arrowheads."

It was quiet.

"Okay. Yeah. Got it. Yes. Okay thank you." he whispered to himself. "She wants you to know that she lived a happy life. She's giving you a thumbs up for something. I think it's love maybe?" he paused for a bit, "Her name is Mia correct?"

I nodded.

"She wants you to know that she's okay and she's been visiting everyone a lot. And she also wants you to know that she's proud of you and your, what she's calling, 'pack'."

"Wow. This is amazing. Thank you."

It was nice hearing that she comes to visit all of us a lot. She's gone but she's always here.

present day

"Did you know hellhounds are a thing and one time, dread doctors brought people to life or something like that?" Grayson said.

Mia's dad gave us a copy of the bestiary, just in case anything were to happen while he and Mrs. Vanderwaal are gone. We haven't opened that thing since he gave it to us, but considering we're bored as fuck, we're looking through it now.

"What the hell are 'dread doctors'?"

"These dudes that were loyal to Sebastien, who was Marie-Jeanne's brother to clarify, who's Mia's legendary, ancestor from a while ago, and I guess they wanted to bring him back to life or something like that. Seems a little boring so I just skimmed through it."

"Interesting."

"They've brought other people back to life before. Might've been as a test run. You know. Trial-and-error." he shrugged. "There's this thing called an Anuk-Ite that feeds off fear. That thing's like Medusa, one look and you turn to stone, so you'd have to fight it blind. Scott McCall had to fight one, thank god he won. Such a legend. Let's pray you never come across one."

"Who's Scott McCall?"

"An alpha werewolf who didn't have to kill anyone to become an alpha, which is also known as a true alpha. You know how cool that is? Says here that he was fighting a darach and pushed through like a wall of mountain ash. That's when his eyes started changing and he bursted through the wall. He's a literal legend. There's so much in here about him." Grayson continued to fangirl over him. "Maybe you could be a true alpha one day."

After another 10 minutes of learning about Scott, Grayson came up with some kind of analogy.

"You're the Scott to my Stiles, who was his best friend, his brother, not his actual brother but they had that type of bond. Scott was the one with the supernatural abilities and Stiles didn't have any type of abilities, other than sarcasm, and was the one who always figured it out."

We talked even more about Scott then the doorbell rang.

"Did you order food?"

"No. Did you?"

"No."

I opened the door and I was in complete shock. I was shooketh.

Grayson walked over to me.

"Who's at the do– Mia?"

"Hey." she turned around.
