Coming off the ship Maria looked at me before leaving with Steve. My father caught me up on all of his latest gadgets and how he have been working to keep the peace. I was so tired that I found a spare bedroom and fell asleep. When I woke up it was a little before the sun went up and I changed into clothes to get my morning workout. This morning all I did was jog. I jog all around the city. My legs grew tired but I loved the city in the morning, I missed this city. When I did go inside to work out Steve was already in the gym so I turned around to leave when his voice stopped me, "you don't have to go". I turned around, surprised he wanted to see me at all, "There is enough room for the two of us here. After all I guess we are living together technically" I nodded and walked to a punching bag before turning to Steve again, "I'm sorry". I could hear him stop hitting the bags and the room was silent for a moment before he replied, "for what? you have to do what you have to do" that was the end of the conversation. Once I finished showering  I went to the kitchen for some breakfast where Clint and Natasha were sitting. They stopped talking when I entered but I was determined to not defend myself to people that have nothing to do with my business.  I was very surprised when I didn't see my father for the text two days, him and Bruce where in the lab doing some "time sensitive" shit. Turns out Steve and I are still on the same schedule from when we were dating. We worked out at the same place at the same time, same place. We ate at the same place, at the same time, ect. It was a weird almost peaceful silence when we did these things together. The next night I laid in bed just thinking about how James is doing. I dreamed of him that day. He was smiling at me and I couldn't help but smile at him. He didn't look as stressed. He looked more calm. James held his hand out to me and I started to hold mine out too. Then the ground shook and we were being torn apart. I herd Steve's voice yell out Bucky and watched as a blur jumped from my ledge to Jame's. I looked down in the crack and it was a never ending drop it seemed. I then herd someone call out my name and as I turned around I saw my father, but there was something wrong with him. He looked tired, older than normally. I looked to Steve and Jame's but my father once again called out. I jumped awake to the sound of my alarm clock. The entire day I spend trying to shake off the dream.

Jarvis had to give me a reminder to get ready for the party. Jarvis is one of the things I missed most, so helpful. I curled my hair, applied makeup and changed into one of the few dresses I had a black strappy cross mini skater with gold heels, earrings, and a big chunky gold watch. With a knock on my bedroom door I opened it to find Thor in a nice tailored suit. He held out his hand, "your presents has been requested Miss Stark" I put my hand in his, which he kissed and said, "By the way you seem to grow even more lovely every time I see you" I couldn't help but let a giggle escape from my mouth when Thor took my arm and hooked it with his, I replied, "Thank you very much Thor. I have to say you clean up very nicely". Thor escorted me straight to my dad who waved like a dork and gave me a great big hug, joking about how we both wore black so my black dress matched his all black suit, then did something he has never done before, introduce me as his daughter. I was shocked at first but then smiled and shook hands with everyone before doing what I do best at these types of parties, excusing myself as politely and quick as possible. Looking down at the pool tables my stomach dropped watching Steve and Sam Wilson AKA the falcon play pool, smiling and laughing together. I guess Steve did what I suggested and moved on from his past, I almost felt bad for Jame's as it looks Steve even got a new best friend. With my newly acquired actually legal status I took to the bar. With a strong big glass of thirty year old whisky over scotch cubes I found myself a seat looking out the big glass mirrors, something James and I used to do on our bad days. It was my father shockingly that sat down by clinking our glasses together, "Shit I can't believe my baby is actually old enough to drink" I smiled at him, to which he groaned, "I know that look, what's eating you kid" I looked to the side and saw Steve and Thor drinking, joking together. I looked Tony in the eye and said, "Nothing dad, just I guess I am a little tired" I adjusted my skirt to stand and he held my hand before kissing it, "I'm trying I want you to know that, I know I can't replace a mother figure but we can talk about Steve if you want" Hearing his name from my father's lips made my stomach drop once again. I bottomed up the whiskey and said, "looks like I need another" before leaving him alone. Behind the bar I was pouring another when Bruce sat on the other side of the bar. I offered to make him a drink and he asked me, "not one for parties are you?" I shook my head, "actually I am really fond of them when i am with my friends" I could see his eyebrow raise, "do you not have friends here?" I gave him a sad smile, "look at it like this. I am surrounded by people who are closer to my father or my ex than they are with me" I started pouring a shot at this point, chugging it as soon as it was done, "I don't think anyone here really trust me and you can't have a relationship with out that now can you" Bruce took the drink and was silent before saying, "You know he misses you" I wished he was talking about my father, but I knew who he meant. I took another sip of my whiskey and placed it back down, "I doubt that Bruce, see" Bruce turned his head looking at Steve talking with a cute girl. "He wants a wife and well... I don't know how to do that." Bruce took his turn to shake his head at me, "You have been so alone for so long that you see it as independence. I had never seen you two as happy as when you were together. I probably shouldn't tell you this but he kept an eye on you like a hawk tonight, anytime a man so much as even looked like he was going to walk up to you Steve made sure to intercept them. He was even getting a little jealous of Thor". I couldn't help but smile at this idea and took another sip of my drink.
