In a new shed that jimbles forced some leftover abducted zootopians to build for him, Jimbles had just completed his latest and possibly most amazing project.
A modified portal machine that would allow him to interact with the 2nd dimension, or flatland as some called it.
The machine resembled a circular ring 2.5 metres in diameter, laid horizontal like a table.
Jimbles, standing next to the portal, pointed to a zootopian ocelot slave who was in control of a switch board.
"Do the flick of a switch!" He ordered.
The ocelot slave pulled a knife blade switch to the on position, the portal glowed with blue light.
Then, like a TV screen, images appeared, they had connected with the 2nd dimension.
Jimbles, in a rare act of kindness to zootopian kind beckoned the ocelot slave to come and see what the portal was revealing from the 2nd dimension.
The portal showed a chaotic menagerie of geometric shapes of various colours all moving a round, though some were still.
Jimbles studied the shapes, commanding the ocelot slave to record notes.
They studied the 2nd dimension for a week, by that time Jimbles had developed a basic understanding of the things of the 2nd dimension.
He learned that the creatures of the dimension were similar in structure to various microorganisms such as bacteria or flatworms
They had a basic outline consisting of various shapes, usually polygons, and many other shapes moving within them almost like clockwork which seemed to be their equivalent to organs and gut microbes.
He also discovered that they sensed their surroundings using touch, hearing, echolocation and polarised light.
They moved like bacteria, using little fins to push through an omnipresent substance that filled their world.
They seemed to possess a simple level of intelligence, they seemed to only use very basic tools, like an ape or parrot would.
Of course, after a week of studying them, Jimbles could help but give in to his desire to screw around with them.
A week after the portal was activated Jimbles waited until a 2d animal had come into view, he stared at its clockwork innards, then began viciously slapping it, like a baby smashing toys.
"SLAP-HANDS SECOND DIMENSION LIFE FORM! HAHAHA!" Yelled Jimbles in delight.
After a minute he stopped and looked at the damage, the creature was still, lifeless, it's inner workings trashed. Jimbles laughed some more.
He then discovered that it was possible for him to not only phase through the 2nd dimension, but to pick things up out of it into his dimension.
He found another 2d creature and discovered that he could remove organs from it like taking apart a Lego toy.
He removed a triangle shaped part from one creature and it it immediately had a seizure and died, Jimbles discovered that the points of the triangular organ were infinitely sharp. He later turned this into a scalpel, which he would use in many surgical procedures in the future.
One day Jimbles found a creature that looked a little bit like a star with tentacles between the isosceles triangles that gave it a star shape, he immediately dared the ocelot slave to touch it.
The ocelot slave was reluctant to touch it, but with more encouragement and death threats from jimbles he finally relented.
The ocelot gingerly put his hand through the 2nd dimension and moved his hand closer to the creature, suddenly two of the triangular shapes that covered it's body snapped shut like scissors, slicing off his hand.
The ocelot slave jerked back his arm, clutching his severed wrist.
Jimbles laughed at this contingency, then suddenly violently assaulted the creature by punching it and ripping off one of its scissor appendages, later on he would turn it into a sword and use it in many adventures.
He eventually saved the ocelot slave, giving him a robot hand.
