"Can one of you please tell me what we're doing?" I whined, resting my head on Riders shoulder as the two of us followed Mike through countless paddocks and waist-high grass.

"It's a surprise activity," Rider told me, flicking my forehead. "You haven't been out of the house since you got here, you know." I looked down, pursing my lips awkwardly.

It was true, since my arrival a few days ago, I haven't exactly made an effort to do anything other than stay in my pyjamas, cooped up inside. It's not like I was moping around, as such. I was just, I don't know, unwilling to look presentable for the rest of the world to see. That also means everyone in the house has seen me with my unbrushed hair, no make-up, and my way-too-short pyjama pants. If you could even call them that.

Like Carter said, I've made multiple attempts at trying to get Mason to have a conversation with me. However, Mason annoys the shit outta me just as much as I annoy the shit outta him. Nuff said? I think so. Rider, however, has managed to become my best friend in the house, despite constantly asking me for another round of FIFA.

Eventually we came to a stop in front of some broken down fencing. It looked like an elephant had tried to do the can-can and fallen down on it's butt. Just saying. "So you think you can handle re-doing some fencing?" Mike asked me, smiling under his wide-brimmed hat. I nodded, eyeing the broken down mess we had to fix. "Great. Well, the new fencing is over in that pile," He gestured his hand in the direction where a heap of white wooden planks laid. "I'll be at the shed if you need me."

We watched him walk away, before turning to Rider, "Should we just pull it all out of the ground?" I asked, looking at the trampled heap of wires and wood.

Rider nodded. "That's the plan. Yank it out then shove it in." He said, before widening his eyes. I looked at him, silent laughter escaping my mouth as I grinned at him. "I swear, that was supposed to come out completely un-sexual."

"Do you think that looks right?"

     "Absolutely not."

I huffed, looking at our fence. The bits sticking out of the ground looked right, but the planks going sideways weren't exactly going sideways. Some were going diagonally up or down, others were simply sticking out from where they should be, making the fence look a bit deconstructed. "Should we try again?" I asked, really hoping Rider would say no. We'd been working for a solid two hours, and it was eleven-thirty. I was hungry. Really hungry.

"Hell no," He said, and I mentally fist-pumped the air. "Dad asked you if you thought you could do it, not if you could get it right." That was true, so technically, we hadn't done anything bad, we just built a fence like he asked. It was a crap fence, sure, but it was still a fence.

"Can we go eat now?" I pleaded, latching onto Riders arm and practically dragging him away from the fence. He nodded, and we proceeded to treck all the back back to the house, with me almost sprinting.

We stumbled through the kitchen door and made a beeline for the fridge and cupboards. I could hear Liz laughing from behind us, as I pulled out a cheese and bacon roll, and bite a huge chunk out of it, closing the cupboard door and leaning against it, sighing in relief. It was probably a tad early for lunch, but couldn't care less.
